Hog catchin

This was my runt from my last litter caught a nice hog..Nasty mean hog to.

 

I didnt catch the hog..This was done with her owner.

She caught that hog on the nose and sat him down...the owner has worked hard with her when she was a pup she wanted to fight the hog lol..i got attatched to her as a pup and it was hard for me to let her go..But glad to see her doin well.

Is she straight nose or does she hit the ear to?

 

She is young but from what I gather yea she goes for the nose.The owner like said they dont fight as hard either.I said hell no that shit prob hurts..But so far she catch all on the nose.

 

My bad yall..I went back and talked to the owner again and he told me she will catch on the nose if the hog rushes her other wise she will catch on the Ear..My apologies for the misinfo.But he said when ever she catch on the nose the hogs dont fight very much at all.

 

Question is there any place that u would know of that I could book a hunt b u t heres the thing I want to hunt with my own 60+lber and that lean or would I have to raise one up on hog catching from a pup? As im sure he will work the hog but hit might be more tring to fight the hog but boy can he ride that ear? Any info will be helpful need something else for theses 40lb six month old pups to learm

 

Honestly most teams prob not gone let you use your own dog unless they know the dog and have seen him work.. he may just would rather fight the scent hounds..Too many risk involved.Here where I live we have so many woods you have to have hounds to pick up a scent.The dog in this thread was started very early as a pup she is only 13 months and already had several catches..Its very natural for a APBT to catch though.Its hard to breed catch dogs that will work around other dogs Its like sittin on a fence lean to far one way or the other and u got somethin u cant use.The dog in this thread is fine workin around other dogs as long as they dont try to fight her.When hog rushes a dog like in this particular case your better dogs will always catch the nose.

I don't know anyone that will hunt with an unknown dog it's very risky. But if you can find someone with a bay pen its a good way to find out how your dog will react to a hog.

 

That is more so wat I was thinking to see how the big boy would react to the hog first and would like to just get out and cover some of the ruff ground just to see how these old bones hold up! We'll see head south very soon to some family memmbers land we ll see how it goes
