hunting with dogs

a fella on the ruger forum told a story of bending a brand new USMC Kabar right at the guard and he threw a bitchfit complaining about Kabar. I didn't know what to believe... if the knife was faulty or he somehow had attempted to stab the pig "wrong" LOL

 

no those pigs are tough ive had a .22 ding right off of ones forehead no lie but ive also had knife break on me the key is right behing the shoulder the begining part of the armpit u stick it in and twist to your left and that rips a huge whole in there heart and they die

 

I hope you didn't take offense to my comment on CS knives. they may make decent knives, but they use pretty basic steel, outsource the parts using overseas labor, yet charge as much if not more than a quality AMERICAN MADE knife. not to mention the fact that I met Lynn Thompson years back and hes an arrogant fucking tool.

no i ddnt take any offence at all the cold steel knife i use or just because thats what my hunting shop sells lol yeah they are made in vietnam i think i try to buy everything all american but my hunting shop just carrys cold steel lol

 

my favorite knife ive ever had was this bad ass spider co but i lost it on a hunt

 

Fwiw cold steel is making a fairly large fixed blade
In 3V which is a damn good steel I just hope they
Nail the heat treat because if they dont their steel
Choice wont mean shit !... Imo even plain old basic
1084 is much better then the steel they use !... If
I were to use a knife for hog hunting id go full on
Custom that is get exactly what I want in my knife
Plus there is alot of custom makers who's prices
Are competitive with the big brand names ! But if
I had to choose a name brand id go with esee knives
There knives are used the world over and come
With a no questions asked lifetime warranty ! Plus
I hear their junglas makes one hell of a pigsticker !

Those Condor knives look pretty good. I've got a couple of Cols Steel blades that I got years ago when they were still made in the US. That pipe knife looks like it would do the trick as far as a "spear" goes, thanks for the link.

 

im a gun/knife nut and I highly recommend Condor stuff....probably the best bang for the buck out there. while it IS made in El Salvador, I have no problem supporting the company... the plant is clean, the people there are treated well and paid good money, so they take great pride in their products. it aint no sweat shop kinda shit. i own several of their products and they are damn good tools. I know a fella who is a US distributor and he filmed a tour of the plant....its on youtube if ya do some digging

The little red dog you posted is my dog, her name is Hemi. She is sitting in a dog house on my yard right now. Might be why you only have one pic, lol. She was a good catch dog though. Retired now.

No reason to carry and expensive pig sticker. Just gonna get covered in blood, dirt and likely dropped and lost. I lost two last year, im sure I will loose more this year. They are cheaply and foreign made, but you can get a box full of those cheapo kbar knives they will get the job done just as well as anything else and when you drop it in the bush, its no big deal.

The spears are more of a novelty. Ive never seen a serious hunter carrying one through the woods, lol. Only time ive seen them used is on guided hunt for out of towners that don't want to get close to a hog.

 

I dont believe that brindled lurcher is yours either.

 

that brindle lurcher is mine and i will upload pics of his brother who is also mine. the other two are at my other property. and the red dog is my hunting parners who i gave to him and the red dog is a male so i dont know how you think that is ur dog no offence but that was one of my catch dogs b4 i let him go and i have picture of him as a puppy and my partner just send me that pic through email about a month ago so and HIS name is chaos, and i will upload pics of his brother who is mine.

 

If im wrong i apologize for that, i just seen that lurcher on a forum in south Wales is all.
