Storms Whelping box :-) jut finished today what do you think it's my 1st Time breeding I hope I made it all ok so please let me know








It's plenty big a nuff ain't it so she can move around the pups to get out for the loo is there any thing I can put over the step on door so it's not to ruff if she catches her nipples and that the pup won't chew and eat ?

 

It looks fine to me. You'll have to put a door on that soon though cuz them pups will be out of it quicker than you think lol.

That wood is gonna soak up so much piss. Man that is gonna STANK.

 

bleach and a little water will take care of that...

 

Cover the wood with contact paper. It wipes clean easily. Also consider putting some pig rails in. Size looks good.

 

Looks good. Get some thick plastic to line it with. That way you can clean the floor which will keep the smell down

 

Looks good I like it , I proly slap a piece of cheap linoleum just to make cleanup easier

 

Agree with nala2010 about cheap piece of linoleum. Glue and some 3/4 round will hold it down nice and no more piss soaking in

 

Linoleum would work better. Dam I should have though of that. I just pulled some out of my moms house.

 

sounds like a pain keeping ur pups somewhere else while ur piss bleach fumes dry out so they dont the pups eyes and lungs.

 

I was going to give it a layer of pva or something to seal the wood but will prob go for Lino tbh

looks good like they have already stated get the flooring right for ez clean up and ur golden! as for me i just used a kids pool and just about the time they start to jump out it about time for them to be wean any way so crate they go!

When I was breeding shepherds I put two coats inside my whelping box to help protect the wood from the blood, pee and poop. And for the cleaner I used nature's miracle stain and odor remover.

 

linoleum glued works best, turn up the sides of the lino and glue it
I used dog litter, news paper, and a bed sheet
the bed sheet stops the pups eating the paper, and stops the paper being tore up when wet
