too many to give an honest answer. i been on a survival/bushcraft knife kick lately and evidently this is one that a guy cant be without in his collection LOL...i know a fella who provides blades if i do a writeup for him on a knife forum. its a win/win...i get a free knife and it helps with his sales.

 

How do you like Falkniven knives Lee? They look like they can take bushcraft beatings. Almost bought one from hedgehog Leatherworks.

 

this is my first Fallkniven, but i'll post some info after i put it thru the paces. they have a large following and the fellas that recommend em arent exactly couch potatoes.

 

Lee, have you handled the Microtech OSS Cobra? I'm looking for a sturdy auto and I like the aesthetics of this particular knife but I'm hesitant to spend 500$ on something I've only seen a picture of.

 

i dont buy any microtech...despite their quality reputation, it seems every once in awhile theres bad batches that go out, and their customer service is shit. this is coming from fanboys ive chatted with for years, so i gotta take their word for it. if in the market for an auto, and had 500 to spend id go custom, benchmade, protech, paragon or piranha and save a few bucks.

Got the Thor. Great knife. Sharp as shit and perfectly balanced. Can tell The edge was put on by hand by the marks on it. Has made short work of hogs. Great knife. Only bummer was the shieth.

Lee.. Is the knife you got folded? Does it have a different steel core than the exterior steel? The one I have does and was made before they moved production to Japan. No problem with the Japan part, but would be interested in how they retains a blade and how durable they are in a smaller blade model. I only own the big guy.

 

no its not folded, it is a laminated steel...VG-10... which im fond of, so im expecting it to hold up well and be easy to keep sharp with my diamond stones. they seem to work best vs ceramic
