Whole Rabbits

    Rabbit hides would be like trying to wash your car with toilet paper.

    Rabbits are okay for a dog occasionally, but they should never be a mainstay.

    Rabbits are too lean; they don't have enough fat on them to keep a dog alive, if used as an exclusive meat source (unlike chicken, which has plenty of fat).

    Also, rabbits can pass Tularemia (Francisella tularensis). If you kill a wild rabbit, cut it open and inspect the liver. If there are white spots, it has tularemia (rabbit fever) which is transmissable to both dogs and humans.

    That is why they're typically eaten only in winter, and why others have recommended freezing.

  3. Solid advice Jack, I decided to wait for that first freeze to set traps- but I just got a job offer in Southern Texas, bit warmer there than Wisconsin so Ill be sure to freeze them real good.
