Dear friend, just to give you an example, also in the Dogo Argentino is present a small percentage of terrier blood... but no one would saying that the Dogo Argentino is a Bull and Terrier breed, or want to add the word "terriers" at the name of Dogo!

The "new" Argentinian Dogo Terrier would be a little... terrier in his character and his appearance.

Also in the Greyhound is present some bulldog blood, but also in this case no one says that the Greyhound is a "Bullhound".

For me, the Old Time Staffordshire Bulldog is a well-defined breed, stable and 101% bulldog both in morphology and character!

DNA profiling is inconclusive, to make such a claim you would first need 100% pure bulldog DNA to compare to, what is this 100% bulldog DNA, an apbt ??

old dogs/strains of type were given names to suit the work they did i.e. "Bulldog, Pitdog", or the area from which they came i.e. "Staffordshire, Dudley", and others such as "Old Family, Old Family Reds" and "Yankee Terriers, Bull and Terriers"

I don't understand why you think it is ok for you to change the name of an established breed to what "you BELIEVE" is correct, perhaps you should follow the example set prior to kennel clubs of the 19th century and rename the breed for it's current function
"The Staffordshire Show Dog" as almost all modern sbt's are just that "show dogs" NOT bulldogs

I agree jacko. I also believe that it's very unlikely that no other breeds were used in the creation of pit dogs and that the modern APBT or STAFFORDS come from a PURE line of "original Bulldogs"!
