I cant believe it has come to this!

Just went to a local "APBT" fun show and was extremely disappointed. I saw only two real APBT and the whole show was full of bullys. Ten years ago the same local fun shows were full of authentic bred APBT's with dogs from all sorts of purebred bloodlines. All I heard today was Gotti this and Big Head that! To each his or her own but you should not claim a "APBT dog show" if what youre really showing is "X-large" Mini type American Bulldog/Boston Terrier looking dogs. Its a damn shame this is what its come to. A bully type dog show should be exactly that. It seems as if The real American Pit Bull Terrier is to some degree fading away. What used to be the type of dog to have is now a whole different type of dog. I know its not the first time this has came up but its hard to experience it first hand.

 

Oh yeah forgot to mention the only decent looking bully (ripped, excellent condition) lost to the fattest and out of shape dog in the ring...LOL..WTF?

 

That is because, the yippies bought those type of dogs... and now they are running the show... IMOP....

 

Now a days, if you have a Real APBT, people will ask "what kind of dog is that"?

 

or they go way around you whispering that is a pitbull.....

 

"Fun show "...I used to show a blind dog in fun shows, no sense complaining about it- its just for fun after all. I know one club split their fun shows into 2 seperate shows- "bully" and "traditional" and it worked out

 

One that I have noticed is about 5 years ago, I use to see people with bully's and big ass blue pits and now I see people around my neighborhood walking true APBT's.

I remember back in 1991 when this girl that I was hooking up with was telling me about these rare gray blue pit bulls that this one guy was breeding. I told her that you don't breed a dog because of the color, you breed a dog that comes from athletic, healthy, intelligent parents.
Back then people thought that pit bulls had to have a huge head and huge mucles and weight 90 lb plus.
They didn't care if it was athletic or healthy. I was living LA at the time and I am sure these blue pits slowly turned into the bully's of today.

 

These bully type dogs would have my grandfather turning in his grave. Everytime I jear gotti or razors edge my stomach turns.

 

GOOD POST I HAD TO REPLY WHEN I SAW THIS ONE I HAVE FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TOPIC I WAS RAISED WITH TRUE APBT's GOT MY FIRST WHEN I WAS FOUR YEARS OLD I WAS GIVEN ONE OF THESE BLUE BULLIES AND THIS LIL GUY WAS SMART AND DRIVEY AS HELL SO I FELL FOR HIM HE WAS GONNA BE JUST A PET BUT THEN IT HAPPENED.... I can tolerate a dog like that but those lil pocket pits and full blown hippos should be wiped out lol

i have classic bullys , game dog, and amstaff. i can tell you this much. from what i can see, my game dog is so much more smart then any of my other dogs. but i must admit, i do love my classic bully. he isnt bow legged like most of the bullies u see today and his chest doesnt sit on the ground. He can keep up with my game dog some what when they play .

But i can see that the real APBT is being bred away. 10 more years and i can see this dog being very hard to come accross.

 

I was also at this show down in Rochester and I was just lost for words the very first few steps into the place and all I heard was gurgling from every direction and everyone there acted like they didn't hear it, every dog in the place was struggling and drooling and it wasnt even that hot. I cant believe that there were that many of those things,not to mention those little ones who's head neck and stomach are the exact same diameter. Im sorry but there were just some painful dogs to look at there I even saw a dog whose tail came up and curled over and touched his back .The only real dogs were huddled up in a corner over by Barrett's weight pulling area . There needs to be something done about these people papering these dogs as APBT's someone needs to demand DNA testing on these breeders or were going to loose our breed.

Why dont they just have there own stuff , It seems like those are the guys that have the money why dont they take and have to DNA there friggin dogs, Just DEMAND adba stop reg those dogs, Go On strike that will stop that shit It dont matter them guys are funny with there big spikes and hats all side ways they make me crack up , But the bad part is they rope new good guys in that are really looking for a good one , So new kid gets one , that "FITS" the standerd, then a year or two later the kid done got real got him some "GOOD" dogs . But he never found it in his hart to fix old bucketthead, And Old Bucketthead done locked up to one of his good dogs, She has pups , now KID has to do some thing so you get these bullshit that down the road pops up and screws up all of it, Thats how that shit ends up in our little corrner huddled up. Ive seen peds wher Every thing is looking good then a old bucketthead will pop up. I dont know why but they ALLWAYS have to breed them damn dogs to prove they can do it. and it allways comes out in the wash

 

I spoke with a Local Mass breeder friend of mine and I believe that he and another Original APBT breeder are going to look into starting up a northeast club again maybe start our own registry or something...this is giving me the shakes I shot a video at saturdays showcheck it out.
