Cabergoline capsules for bitches reluctant to season.

Anybody tried this, to bring a bitch into season and can tell me about it? Vet says won't mess them up like injections can.

 

Took 2 Dogue bitches to vet to get this medication. 280mg capsules, 1 daily. Giving half dose to the 2 much smaller bitches I really needed it for. Expensive shit! Hope it's worthwhile.

Around $5 per capsule + comes in a 90 day supply per bitch. I shouldn't whinge at the cost, 'cause if it works I'll be thinking it's cheap!

 

Every bitch has a cycle so they get in session every 6 months a year so 2 heats in a year

 

Many bitches are irregular. I've owned over 200 bitches in the last 20 years fonzie. Maybe I misunderstand your post, it doesn't make sense to me.

If my bitches were all cycling in regularly, why would I go to the trouble and expense to get medication to bring them in. Your post reads like it's set in stone that every bitch cycles the same and regular as clockwork, which is dead wrong.

 

What nonsense! Bitches can become irregular for many reasons, often treatable by a vet. I'm just unfamiliar with this current medication the vet gave me, and asking if anyone's familiar with it. Quote above is a pointless, incorrect and ridiculous answer. What's it got to do with the vet giving me this stuff for the bitches? One 8y.o who's not been in heat for 2 years and a 5y.o who's not been in heat for a year. Do you know MY bitches better than I do fonzie?

Thanks Limey, any other methods for irregular bitches? I have one that stays somewhat swollen and will look like she is gonna go in and stays that way for a few weeks and then it goes back down again. Happens every few weeks but she doesn't actually go in very often. Jus curious

 

dont know if it helps as its uk based but ive used a powder called fit and fertile.i had a bitch didnt season for 18 month.i put her on this she came into season and had 8 pups ! its less than 20 gbp to buy.if you google fit and fertile uk all the info is on there.he's on hand to answer questions as he's a real decent bloke.hope this helps.
