eli dogs are a good way to go i have one crossed with snooty and he is a great dog but i like the pure boudreaux dogs better they have everything you want in a game dog. they are just hard to get.

 

I disagree pacc12, I think that out crossing to a pure boudreaux gives you a significant advantage when breeding for high percentage usable dogs. I have owned both, and prefer the cross bred dogs.

yeah, I have seen that cross too, and you're right they are good. I like the eli crossed with redboy jocko and bolio, and I like it crossed with frisco. One of my favorite dogs was crossed that way.

 

i always had good luck with eli & eli crosses. i'd be totally cool just breeding the arty/missy blood.

I will say this that ELI dogs of modern times are the most peddled watered down line of today with know SDJ verification & non dogmen pushing good looking black dogs to make $. To me a big factor is to be good you must use what you breed not tell bullshit stories to guys who want to believe what they are buying is good. How do you buy a dog from a man who has never thrown his leg over a dog? Then the Kennels who buy the pretty black Eli dogs start breeding there shit from the Eli peddlers & then you have generations of pretty none game junk. That is how you ruin once good game Eli dogs. Lots of Kennels selling junk Eli dogs for a lot of money!! I personally do not care what a Kennel did 5,10,20 years ago. I would get from a real dog man who uses what he feeds not throw peds on good looking junk! If you can not figure out or earn respect to get good dogs then you do not belong in the sport!

 

LOL I guess I dont have any thing to worry about then lol all my eli dogs are Brn dark red brown. I know what you are saying though its true for the most part, But elistrains are also kept the tightest and crossed by real dog men also and are still doing just fine. You wouldnt belive the people who look at me wheen i tell them how some of my dogs are bred .They look at me like Im telling a story, i dont have the first Black Eli dog lol they all are down from the Jawbreaker stuff and Iron mikes old blindbilly blood and they all brown baby.

 

Yes sir I would believe it. I have owned several brown/red tight Midnight Cowboy dogs. I just wanted to make a point that I have seen several Eli beeding selling Kennels who I know have never taken one of there dogs to do one thing. They promote there shit as great Eli dogs & post good looking dogs & people jump all over it! If the buyers would try there stuff from the so called breeders they would find out that the guy selling them dogs is full of shit! Oh well there will always be sellers & buyers wanting to believe what they bout is good & they can just show off there peds on the internet. Ped wars online! Lol! I will say this if the breeder has generation after generation of there name on the ped with no Ch,Gr Ch,W's that can be proven but lots of bullshit stories they have the greatest run away. A lot of breeders brag a bout there Boudreaux dogs 4,5,6 generations back good dogs now they have a new line they made with none used or proven dogs? Buyers want to believe it cause they are paying for it then more junk is bred & pretty peds are made.
