It's a mutt, same as every other mutt.

could be seen as a battle cross,! you may get short term results ,but as crosses arent as likely to produce why bother unless your in it for the long haul ?

I read somswhere that early Amstaffs(Pitbulls) where allowed to be crossed with SBT's, so I'm guessing you'd be baically breeding Amstaffs.

It's a cross breeding and like with any dogs if it's done between just pets don't waste your time.
To call crossbred dogs mutts is not right and insulting to the dogs that did worked, as long as they are proven you have more then just a mutt in your hands.
Mutts are dogs that have nu use in life.

So a mutt beat 5 pure bred APBTs...the dog in your photo looks like a show mutt, don't even look like a pure APBT, mix of American bull dog ?....R

Ricky unless I'm mistaken his dog is a BT/x. At least I think I remember him saying that.

Whether you like the word or not - it's a MUTT. If it insults you, get a dictionary.

If done for working purposes, I don't see a problem... but as pets, no. We don't need more pointless mutts.

Thats what you'd call a bulldog. Who cares if there's stafford in there? The dog has proven himself so I wouldn't call it a mutt... 5xW 1xL probably makes it more of a bulldog than many of the pure "gamebred" APBTs out there. But like somebody else already mentioned, most would ask why breed a dog like this if its the end of the road?

Nothing wrong with a cross for your own working purposes. Ask the guys who work terriers and lurchers, its a pretty common practice with those types.

A mutt just means crossbreed, it ain't an insult unless you make it one.

The tread was about APBT x SBT and I decided to put up a good one, that dog was bred in a country where APBT ware just a new breed at that time, and some ware crossed with the local breed that was used for sport, that "Ned" being on of the better ones, as for him it was the end of the line after his 6th show, but there is some of the same blood still being shown.

Her sister also was made up as champion= Mighty Kelt's Ch."Meg", as you the staff side of the breeding is very similar, 25 year gap twix the Ch."Ned" dog and the two Champ sisters....80+ years ago they ware the same breed, only KC and show people gave them different names, as abreed now the show people have them ruined...R

The tread was about APBT X SBT, so I put up one that was a good example, at the time that APBTs was a new to that country, and some ware crossed with the local breed that was used for sport,a breed 80+ years earlier ware the same breed as the APBT, just show people KC and a physical standard ruined the breed, here is a bitch that carries the same blood as the Ch."Ned" dog'

i guess i dont understand the need for doing a breeding like that. sure there might have been good dogs in the past doin it, but those were the exceptions to the rule

Is the breeding of these dog not all about winning ? there are so many people breeding APBTs for no reason but to just to breed dogs, before I go any further I don't keep dogs of this bloodline, I just put up a example of a good one, there are people on this forum breeding APBTs as pets, weight pulling dogs, because he has a nice colour, show dog, them big bullies, is the purpose of this breed to win matches ? that dog "Ned" was there winning 5 times out of 6, a recognized GR.CH. with the SDJ, before he lost the 6th, do you not think he was worth breeding ?....R

I do not have any problem with the mix. I own some matter of fact. I call em 50/50's. Some call show n go's. People on this site are acting bias in most cases and a lot of the people do not realise that they all came from the same dogs way back when. Function and form. Why ask others. Some lead you to light, some astray. That is my view on it.
