I have a chance to pick up a nice little gyp . She is 16months old but the only concern i have is that she has already had a little of pups witch all are very healthy. My question is. Is there going to any health problem down the road due to her being bred at such a young age ?

it is not a recomended age offcourse to have had a litter.
But if everything went normal with birth i see no problems.
The gyp should be fine, she wil stay the size that she is now, jmo

I dont recomend it, but I had a girl that had a litter at 11 months. She was 57lbs when breed, and no it wasnt on purpose. My containment at the time was not enough. I was concerned for her, and talked with alot of dogmen. As much as nobody wanted this to happen this young, they all said the same thing. When a bitch goes into heat, its natures way of saying shes ready. Look at it like this, in the wild, do you think she would tell the males that shes not mature enough, lol, I dont think so. As time went on, breeders have come to learn that there seems to be less complications when breeding at 2+yrs which is the norm today. Luckly we had zero complications with our litter. We ended up having 5 males and 4 females, all puppies lived. She was a great mom to them, and even allowed the dad to lay with her while she feed them, it was pretty amazing. I would never want to see a young dog get knocked up, but if it happens its not the end of the world. People told me to abort the dogs, that its like a 7yr old having a kid, but I have never heard of a 7yr old being able to get pregnant. I could be wrong though lol. The guys I talked to didnt condone breeding that young, but said its gona come down to her, if she will properly mother them, which she did thankfully.

if dogs werent able 2 have pups at that age they wouldnt go in heat, wat if they were in the wild? adult dogs can handle the stress on the body better and hopefully be a more mature parent but IMO the main issue is u kno the dog hasnt been looked at yet

Humans can have children at 11years old, even younger so hey why not! It could happen in the wild.

    Great logic right there.

A lot of dogs, and other animals, cannot take the stress put on them before, during and after birth so there is a high risk that the mother will die or have other serious issues.

what are you going on about? whos breeding children?

a bitch can be bred first heat. they're animals, not furry people. the biggest problem wiuth breeding this young is you still dont know how the dog will turn out as its still a pup and flaws could show up as it matures

why so many people post here that dont know what theyre talking about, especially when it comes to health. The dog will be fine

what point are you proving? all im sayin is that the dog will be fine just like a young teenager will be fine. I would never dream of breeding a dog on the first heat but if it happens just know the dog will be more than ok. I dont know why i'm taking the time to even respond to you smh...

where did I post your name? Theirs a simple answer here and I gave it, dog will be fine and breeding principles have nothing to do with the question, it was health and the dog will be fine

    lol

OK, so what complications are there breeding a pup young? Yeah i understand its not right but i have witnessed many dogs having pups on first heats and they grow up to be completely normal, im just curious, what cons are there to it, apart from the dog is still a pup?
And lets me just ad it is not me breeding the pups, i have never bred a litter in my life.

15year old girls are having babies, they are still children.

The biggest issue is the mom may not mother the pups.

boudreaux, tudor, and carver bred many bitches on their first heat.
the problem with breeding one that young is that the dog hasnt proven itself worthy of being bred.

Comparing dogs to humans....can't be done with a sensible mind. Another way to humanize dogs, lol.
