yep, i agree. the laying on them could be due to a poorly built whelping box too, but i was under the impression she ate them...

"she eat them"."no she did not come from rod".took them to the vet.the male got four stitches;but did make past last night.the female is good so,i'll keep at her. BDC,NASTY STYLE,&941'S UNO is her name.will put up pic if she makes past a week.

I believe that its a lack of calcium that causes a female to eat their pups

Do you mind me asking what type of food she was on during the preg

And also was there any human contact with the pups while she was having them

 

she was on sport's mix;and i found her having them.did not go in the area until i saw her eat the first one with my own eyes.

Were they born live?did she get the sacs off them or just gulp them down?
The most common is eating stillborns,then culling defects,then lacking nutrients,lastly she may not be a good mother.You have to figure out why.

as far as i could see they were.she seemed to have a usaully long laber.but that should have caused her to eat the pups.long as i have been into the dogs never had one do this!doing my mommie duties right now feeding and cleaing her butt.if she lives this pup me and this pup will be close.

say goodbye to your normal life for a couple weeks if you plan on handraising em

 

Next time put your females on puppy food as much as she can handle
This will help with suppling extra calcium in the meal without supplements

And make sure you exersize pregnant females it helps with labor

 

Yeah if the were stuck for a while they were either dead or soon to be and she was doing her job.I would try her again.Was the sire her size or bigger?
Are the two left alert?If she thinks they aren't right she will get rid of them also.

how old is ur bitch i recently had same happen to me outta 8 ended up wit none was my bitch first litter good friend which happens to be well established ol timer say might have been due to this factor all u can do is be prepared to the t to hand raise pups now you know she a puppy killer

 

Sorry for your troubles. I'd try her again, I'd change her feed and walk her tail off, excersize does do wonders
