Not the shows in my neck of the woods. Here there are alot of real bulldogers showing real bulldogs and most of the time the right dog wins. BTW what the hell is wrong with chocolate lmao.Things may be different elts where?? I dunno.

To me a show is a show no matter who is judging the event.Nobody can tell what aworking animal is about without seeing them perform the task which they are bred for.Take the Bulldog for instant if you keep breeding them for shows the goal is to win the event.Well after your dogs lose enough then u will breed for the show standard. In that case just get a Bully or Staff.Performance is everything looks don't matter. When u stop breeding the Bulldog for performance then the bulldog will no longer be a Bulldog.

Just because someone shows don't mean there breeding for show dogs. Looks dont madder however a good breeder of working dogs will take structure into acount. I.E. form and function go hand in hand. Some flaws are only cosmetic but others will effect performance.

a dudley nose has nothing to do with performance
some judges also dont like if your dog is too DA

Looks has nothing to do with performance. A Bulldog is judged by their heart. If a person could look at a dog and tell that well hell game is over.No point to performance then. Look at all the animals that are bred by looks and look pretty. They can't do the tasks that their breed was ment for.As for them they was bred for show and they do that fine.If you breed for show and the judges don't like DA then you will either discourage it in your dogs or eventually breed it out of them.So you can win at shows.

imo shows r for fun. its nice to win but its the only time i can bring dogs out and talk to ppl who understand my obsession with them.

Its not a Game show lol its a confo show. The aadr and the adba do not discourage dog agression lmao its proper attitude for the breed and if youre dog dont show some fire it counts against you. Some folks like showing there BULLDOGS and pups occasionaly. That does not automaticly mean that thay dont breed bulldogs but only fancy looking confo dogs.

Look, I've spent a good portion of my life around real dogs and real dogmen. It wasn't until my mid 20's that i attended my first show. What did I see....? Many of the same real dogmen i grew up learning from and looking up to, some of them legendary. Both showing and judging real bulldogs. Not all of them are the real deal, but the same can be said about many of the dogs (and men) in the sport. And another thing, If your dog doesn't at least act like a real bulldog in the show ring your chances of winning are pretty slim. That thing about "no DA" is a joke. The day they stop allowing BULLDOGS in the show ring is the day they stop collecting entry fees from me.

Breeding blue dogs to game bred dogs? How does that make an all around better dog? Kind of like mixing Patron with Durango...just makes one shitty.

This dog is a bulldog and the judges love him. http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=143417
and the list goes on and on. In the world of show dogs, there are pretty curs and pretty bulldogs that win. Just like there are ugly curs and ugly bulldogs that lose. As long as you breed for bulldogs, you may get a few good looking ones from time to time, and everybody loves a pretty bulldog. That's why you show them. I see nothing wrong with it as long as they are a bulldog FIRST. Lets not forget Macho Buck was shown in conformation and did pretty well.
