i have owned two crazy dogs/bitches.one i have now is 10mnth bitch bred heavy on the jeep/rascal/redboy blood. i don't call her fight crazy,as she has had no contact with other dogs, this bitch is simply born this way, the day i got her.the thing is her sire & grand parents on boths sides are game rugged dogs.its no suprise really.as earl tudor said "its all in the breeding".also i think poorer bred dogs on average, have been influenced! to be "fight crazy",not born with a high prey drive.

It's all in the breeding yes, however, just because your bitch is really energetic with a lot of drive, but was never rolled, won't fight, you're wrong. Your dog is still young at 10 months old, once she hits 2 years old or 3, then she might become fight crazy. Btw, there have been dogs that wouldn't start until 3 years old and some even 4, like Tudor's Dibo. Also Fitzwater's Goldie wouldn't start till 3 and Honey Bunch at 2+.

i know she has the potential to be a combat dog,but how can a dog be fight crazy if it has never had a fight?. i would call it "fight energy",like hunting dogs they have to be shown how to hunt, but some are naturally better & have more potential than others.i think if things did get serious with another dog,she would fight hard & do well.but the law would chase me down for allowing such a moment

The dog can be fight crazy due to her intense prey drive causing her to attack another animal. She might view another animal on 4 legs as prey, something to be killed.

in a way at looking at things! differently, i guess we can both have perspectives.all in all,i have owned a couple of different bloodlines,i find that that the jeep/rascal/redboy to have a high percentage of this "fight crazy" personality.

The term fight crazy dog means exaclty what it sounds like, which is a dog that only wants to fight and attack another dog or animal no matter what period, that simple it doesnt mean anything else. Some of yall trying to read into it too much and think there is some kind of hidden message in that term and shit LOL.

  7. fight crazy or calm i'll take either... seen good and bad in both... the 1's that are loco, screamin, peddle 2 the floor types just need more thought in there schoolin or keep, every dog is diffrent, you just have to find the plan that works for the individual... fight crazy dawgs do suck in the city tho lol... interesting post...

As a breeder I feel that I should flurt the pup to insure that dogs with a higher drive go with people that can handle the dog and are properly suited and equipped for such a dog!
AS a breeder I want to put the best of my dogs with people that are going to work them push them and show off what what I Produced! and the great ones I keep like this one!

I would NEVER let my animals play with any type of springpole set up together nor high up in the air. That is how either a fight is started or your dog breaks a leg/bone. People say " Oh that won't happen." I have personally seen it happen, even to people on this very site. You will probably disagree but that is not safe. IMO.

I think there has to be degrees to "fight crazy". I have a Colby dog who absolutely hates any male dog or dogs larger then himself. Now if its smaller in stature for some reason he automatically assumes its female and trys to breed (probably because he's only 40lbs lol). From a distance any strange dog is an enemy and he'll even grab females if you allow them to approach him to quickly. Then I have a Redboy/Jeep/Carver male who would attack anything full force that walks into his chain space with the exception of cats. (Idk he's just weird and likes cats). So I think it has more to do with then just prey drive. The Colby male wants to hump cats and everything smaller then him. Has no interest at all in cattle or horses but will hit a wild boar full strength when released. He's one of those dogs you have to keep on a lead during a hunt until you get to where the bay dogs have the hog at bay. Luckily for me and my hunting buddies the bay dogs are smart enough to know when they see him being walked up to clear a path.

Humping is a display of domanince. If the object he was humping happend to get spunky it would get ugly.
IMO he just dont see smaller dogs and sutch as an immideate threat. IMO this is a sign of an intelagent dog.

I had one that hit the spring just like this one.He did have a high pray drive but more so was highly athletic. I've seen dogs with insane pray drive that could not do the things in this video. My dog like youres tended to hit the highest point on the hide or simply go past the hide and try to go as high as he could on the rope. Trying to keep him on the ground and to keep the flirt pole away from him was a pain in the ass and he had to be broke off both the spring and the flirt with a stick. With dogs like this you have to be vary carefull the dog dosent hurt himself working while in a keep and to do the things in this video are foolish IMO. First off I dont care how well the dogs trained you godda expect a bulldog to be a bulldog especiay when worked up working te spring. I personaly would never put my bulldogs in that situation. Second encourageing the dog to work the spring that high up. One word "Honeybunch" Dogs can and do get fuckwed up this way. I warned another this same way about a year ago and low and behold six months later her dog was in a cast.

my female has played with the neighbors smaller dog on numerous occasions BUT she has grown up with the dog.. Now if the big black dog comes to her yard from two houses over she flips out ... so like sampson said , my female doesnt mess with small dogs either. but if she spots a cat or rabbit she starts screaming, the cats will make noises under the house at 3 in the morning so i let her ass out the door and she loves it.... but he also hunt rabbits
