My puppy has been getting these random bald spots and marks on his body, they are everywhere except on his head and neck. Any ideas as to what they might be?

And no, he doesn't have fleas. I have been giving him baths with Sulfodene Medicated Shampoo, but its not helping.

That looks like pyoderma. A bacterial infection on the skin.

But I would get a skin scraping to rule out demodectic mange. Just to be safe.

Probably Demodex, its pretty easily treated in the early stages. Get him to a vet and have him tested.

i had that prolbem with my dog barack when he was a pup somehow he got mites witch leads to mange i think ,,tryed a few things this is what cured him ,,its called mitaban the bottle says dilute it with 2 gallons of watter i did so not the best results so i got another bottle of it from the vet and used a gallon and a third instead of 2 gallons but put it in a spray bottle ,,sprayed him down and brushed it in every day for a week then every other day for 2 more weeks it worked outstanding... i really freaked out when i resurched photos of dogs with mange and had it in my mind that i would not let a dog suffer and knew that putting the dog down was a posibility ,,,i thank my hindo vet so much for his idea about useing less watter and the spray bottle

I looked up pyoderma on this website (it gave me the most information) Merck Veterinary Manual
Jace has all of the symptoms (hair that is easily removed in certain spots, pus spots, crusting) of Superficial pyoderma. He also has the odor of deep pyoderma (i was wondering why he smelled so bad). I guess its off to the vet we go :(

yea i think that the vet is the best bet just to be safe.

my blu is allergic to everything but the air..your pup does look like he has a bacterial skin infection. Bacterial skin infections are secondary to other issues, such as allergies. My girl is about 2.5 years old now. She got the same skin infections as a pup.. After getting her to a dermatologist, they gave her antibiotics and suggested a food trial test since it came back twice on us.. I tried every food under the sun... Turns out, she's allergic to all grains, beef, turkey, lamb, duck, potatoes, some vegetables, you name it, she's allergic.. Finally got her on Bravo chicken raw diet.. Only thing she can eat.. 100% difference.. still has some allergies to grass, etc, outside, oh, and also deathly allergic to bees.. Got stung, went into shock, luckily vet is around the corner.. Now we carry an epi-pen everywhere... Anyway, we've been through everything with her...Once we figured out her food allergies, bacterial skin infections stopped... Almost all of the time it has to do with dog food.. what do you feed him? Look at the first 5 ingredients in your dog food.. Most dog foods have fillers which are garbage... Corn, wheat, fructose, etc.. it's all bad stuff... I'm not a vet, but, I went through everything with my dog and kept a book for 6months straight while doing food elimination diet.. finally narrowed it down, it takes time, but it's well worth it.. You don't realize how much there food plays a huge roll in there skin disorders and allergies that arise... my dog has a super shiny coat, doesn't stink anymore, ears aren't pink or hot red from being irritated, no more bumps..Best part is, we don't have to inject her full of cortisone shots..Try changing his food to a much higher quality dog food if you don't already have him on one. If you do, try a different protein. Some dogs are allergic to the protein, the beef, the chicken, etc... It's worth a shot. If you can't go raw, try Solid Gold, that is a great dog food.. I don't care what people say about Natural Balance, it's garbage... It's full of high fructose syrup...You should still take him to a Dermatologist, they will help 100% better then your VET.. I went through it all.. the vet cannot diagnose skin issues as well as the dermatologist.... good luck

nu stock works really well for all sorts of things but it could be a allergy try swithching the food to something with no grains taste of the wild is a great kibble it cost some money but you will love what it does for your dog

It may have been just a coincidence, but his skin problem vanished after he was bit by a spider about 3 weeks ago. Now his skin is healthy and his fur is really shiny.
