    Just thought Id interject some things this bill will do. Some will start right away, others will take up to 4 years. Though I despise the Gov having MORE power. Im not sure I see any that is listed as being a bad thing. The Insurance fuq people as much as they possibly can to get their bottom line.. Personally, I see many of these changes as good changes. Some mind you, not all.

    As soon as health care passes, the American people will see immediate benefits. The legislation will:

    * Prohibit pre-existing condition exclusions for children in all new plans;

    * Provide immediate access to insurance for uninsured Americans who are uninsured because of a pre-existing condition through a temporary high-risk pool;

    * Prohibit dropping people from coverage when they get sick in all individual plans;

    * Lower seniors' prescription drug prices by beginning to close the donut hole;

    * Offer tax credits to small businesses to purchase coverage;

    * Eliminate lifetime limits and restrictive annual limits on benefits in all plans;

    * Require plans to cover an enrollee's dependent children until age 26;

    * Require new plans to cover preventive services and immunizations without cost-sharing;

    * Ensure consumers have access to an effective internal and external appeals process to appeal new insurance plan decisions;

    * Require premium rebates to enrollees from insurers with high administrative expenditures and require public disclosure of the percent of premiums applied to overhead costs.

    By enacting these provisions right away, and others over time, we will be able to lower costs for everyone and give all Americans and small businesses more control over their health care choices.

    Oh I think that is a valid point given the fact we have a foreigner sitting in the white house right now who is not eligible to serve as president. And the bottom line is I want NOTHING this man is offering, When he sent out that $250.00 for his "stimulus" plan I took the check and tore it up and flushed it down the toilet, I don't need any help or being told what to do by the likes of him. And I sure don't like the idea that we have a African from Kenya telling us what kind of medical care we can have and dictating how to spend Americas money.

    I think that is a little extreme to say the least, Especially given the fact that you weren't alive during his presidency. History books can say what they wish and they can play all the happy little film clips they like on TV, But he was nothing but a degenerate and a crook and THAT is why he was killed.

    i literally mean children shouldnt suffer as in not having food to eat bc their parents are lazy. And again i didnt test high enough on the act to get scholarships or even qualify for a lot of schools. I had a terrible education from a poorly funded school. Again not lazy, i just hadn't learned the majority of the stuff on the test. I lucked out bc of sports plan and simple. I would NOT be in college if not for my jumpshot lol. I just think people who arent in the situation dont understand all the way. Not to say that WAY TO MANY ppl dont sit and take advantage of it bc they do and i hate it but u have to realize some people have no other option especially when its hard for anyone to get a job now not just people with no education or work experience. Im not sayini you are wrong, just want you have keep an open mind and see both sides bc u i def understand your side

    Yes Zoeys response was pretty extreme! I think that you have to look at whats best for the country. IDC who helps better the country as long as it gets better. A good dog is a good dog, a good friend is a good friend, a good president is a good president so who cares where they are from...
    Good dogs are where you find em right???

    i dont like it.
    not sure where all these folks are that get dropped by their insurance after getting sick? my son spent the first 10 months of his life in the hospital (dartmouth and boston childrens). several surgeries, over $1million...my insurance covered every single penny, and i never got dropped.

    this whole thing is just another crutch, another finger in the dam. maybe i should quit my job and just become a professional college student, after all- i could be up partying at 2am instead of getting up to go to work at 2am.:rolleyes: but then again-there isnt much out there in the way of free money for white irish males these days.
    im not boo-hooing, i just think that if everyone took care of themselves we wouldnt be in this predicament. but then again, im the exception to the rule- i make six figures, no college education, no student loans, no credit cards, own my home, have had health insurance for some 15 years and have only used it once ( accident).
    i just get to foot the bill some more, awesome.

    you seem to be of the ilk that just cant understand why someone wouldnt agree with you. people have different opinions-that will always be the case.
    there was a fellow at work (planner, NON-craft)who passed this week. he was atleast 150 pounds overweight, smoked, and didnt eat right. sat in front of a computer screen w/ a high stress job.
    there are guys i work with ( fellow pipe welders) that are chain smokers...we weld alot of 2.25% chromium, hexavelant chromium poisoning is a reality, as well as asbestosis and mesothilioma, lead, cadmium, inorganic arsenic...yet they still puff away. many are from the school of thought that "if i dont see it, it wont hurt me"
    this isnt a movie- its real life. go to most any doctors office- you will see ALOT of people who dont need to be there-hypochondriacs abound. people that need attention or pills. people that just abuse the system. people who refuse to make changes to help themselves
    are there honest to goodness sick people out there? you bet. are they ALL? hardly

    Look I dont give a fuck who was or is the best president... fact of the matter is America was founded on certain beliefs... I dont give a fuck if the pres is black ,white, jap or whatever... fuck Im half spick and half hillbilly, point is Americans should work and earn what they have not expect government handouts... and yes Ive benitfitted from government assistance but now that I've grown and have a family and a career (electrician) you begin to realize that theres people out there that live off of your hard work for nothing... and Im not talking about the single mother trying to make it on her own, Im talking about the dumbass people living in free government HUD who hook for a living and sell crack out the back of their apartment with their 4 illlegitament kids locked in their rooms and still get their EIC and CTC every year and havent worked a day in their lives to earn it... My grandparents came to this country so their kids and grandkids could have better... and I just want the same for my son...

    good post rally. Im not sayin you're not right but this is for the people who DO need help. It sucks people will abuse it but health care is a huge problem in the country and it needs to be addressed. We often ignore the big problems and waste time on BS. Ill agree to disagree on this one. I guess people are going to go with what benefits them the most. Though this time next year i def will be able to secure myself VERY WELL financially, i still wont forget where i came from.

    my point exactly, do you think its worth making single mothers and their children tryin to make it suffer so that lazy people cant benefit? I dont...
    And dont forget where you came from, the same thing you are against is what kept you on your feet til you got to where you could stand on your own two. Now that you are okay you think its okay to take that opportunity away from the next person? I dont know you but that sounds kind've selfish, not tryin to be a dick. We see eye-to-eye on the facts but i just lean towards dealing with lazy ppl in order to help ppl in need while you are like cut everyone off so lazy people cant benefit...

    You know whats funny is you have people that dont have a pot to piss in and who dont even make enough money to contribute to the tax requirements in this country and you read where they are saying that they dont support the bill. Funny it helps you. Let me tell you what I think the real deal is.
    1. People that have don't want to take care of the people that don't. So all the people that dont make any money when you are at these rallys the man next to you that is going to jump in his Mercedes when he leaves dont want to pay for you to go to the doctor. LOL
    2. Some folks just dont want to support anything that Pres. Obama does. It's all good he is still the President.lol. Get over it. LOL
    3. Some people really don't think that the Bill will work and is too expensive. They have a logical arguement that has nothing to do with questioning where he was born. They feel like it is not the right time for a Bill that big and has a Reasonible Alternative to the Bill that has just be passed. (I like these people because you can have a good debate)

    My opinion is that I will never take up for the insurance companies. They suck plain and simple, soon as you get sick they either linit what you can do and they drop you afterwards. Something has to be done with the amount of people that have lost there jobs. If someone shows up at the emergency room shot with no insurance the hospital is obligated to help that person. Guess who pays for that? This happens all the time. I know for sure that people take there children to the emergency rooms because they dont have any insurance and they know that they wont be turned away. That needs to be dealt with. If someone has a pre existing illness that shouldnt disqualify someone form having insurance. Some people on this site have issues and this will totally effect you for the better.
    Could the Bill be better I am sure it could be better. But a little of something is better than a whole lot of nothing. Just my 2 cents
    BTW, I havent recieved 250 under Obama..lol
    I did get 600 and 500 a couple of times under Bush.
    As far as presidents are concerned it depends on your situation when that president was in office on how good that president was.
    Good Day B
