Chain length?

What is the average length of chain yall use for your chain spots? 7-8ft maybe?

 

i personally use 20 feet of chain but i have a big yard

I like 12 foot from the axles

 

i use 10ft

 

in my experience, guys with a lot of dogs, e.g. enough to do their own breeding, have chains no more than 5 - 6'. But some people use kennel runs also. i guess it depends on finances and local laws, which sometimes don't allow chains....

 

I live in a urban city we stack kennels and do about 6-7 feet of chain from thee axel..

 

depends on the size of your dog,but 10ft shuld b gud for a grown dog

all of mine are on 12-15 ft chains i wouldnt ever put a grown dog on anything smaller than 10 feet

15-30 feet depending on the spot. I don't know of a "best" chain length. I just put the longest chain that I can use safely and conveniently.

 

Mine range from between 10 and 20 feet. 20 feet on the grown dogs and 10 on the younger ones. The chain length aslo varies on the thickness of the chain. I tend to make 8mm chain shorter than a 6mm chain. Just things I take into consideration.

 

A chain should be minium 3x the length of the dogs body. This is the legal length of a chain in PA. Of course the longer the better.

 

I use an 8' chain but mine is on a cable run.....

I think a cable run is the best set up you can have. (if you have the space for it)
