Why is that?.......what about the rest of his feed...........fillers,fibers,grains?
Protein meat, fatty meat and bone are atleast 70/80% of a healthy and nutritional diet, including organ meat.JMO

i thought puppys need a high protien diet> arent you supposed to let pups be fat?

Negative sir!! If pups are fattened up and continue to do so in thier developing stages the overweight would be detrimentral to their bones, joints, too much weight on a puppy is bad. Balance you're not suppose to see any ribs but moderate puppy fat.

i was always told that diamond EA was good for pups because of the high protien and it always made sense as to the protiene giving them the proper weight.
    hmmmmmmm....................im kinda stumped

I was using the EA to but was told same to cut down on the protein. I now give Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice to mine but I don't work them. Is the High Energy better or no?

I feed the TOTW prairie to my puppies. It is a all ages food. Never had any problems. As far as the weight goes, I regulate the food amount. Have never done the free feed thing. They get controlled portions 2xaday.

u may never have a problem...hope u dont. I just dont like real high protien from kibble. In the processing part they take the protiens to high temps and it kills the emzymes needed for digestion making it harder on the dogs kidneys etc. Now raw is different.

i tried that with two of the three dogs as pups. two were litter mates and one was another breeding. the two litter mates, i fed one canidae and the two other i tried evo protein enriched. the canidae boy is 10 poundds less than his littermate but he is denser and more proportionate. the other two boys always had problems with their stool being extremely wet and they are a lot taller and smaller headed in proportion to their body. i stopped feeding evo after about a year and a half bc of the costs and the lack of better muscle tone and energy. now they all have canidae and their stool is better. i would not suggest feeding high protein for pups in dry food also bc in my instance the littermate with high protein diet seemed to grow disproportionately in comparison to his brother and he seemed to have more problems with growth pain. maybe only in a keep? but then the dog would bloat up bc of all the water they drink from the food.

Just a regular lil pup not old enough to work or anything just old enough to play and walk

It wouldn't be a bad idea for me to get a blood panel done to see if there is any damage to the kidneys. I will probably talk with my vet about it further.
