Put a call in to your vet. :) It could be the salmon oil, but just to be on the safe side, call the vet.

A phone card to call the vet???? You should have her seen, that way you don't waste your money on something that may or may not work. Also mange isn't a genetic issue.

Looks like Mange but you never know. Here what I know about Mange.

There are two types of mange Sarcoptic (canine scabies) and Demodectic (red mange). Both look very similar with the with exception that Sarcoptic is highly cantagious to humans and anything it comes into contact with. It makes your dog scratch like crazy. The dog needs to be isolated and its bedding thoroughly cleaned with Sarcoptic

You need to get Mitaban (Amitraz) for Demodectic. It works! I've used it but it's a prescreption only medication. Comes concentrated so you'll have to mix with water and wear gloves because it will burn.

For Sarcoptic you need to use a lime sulfur rinse once a week until its gone. The same rinse used to control pet ringworm. This is usually found in dog with really poor health condition.

I would say your dog probably has red mange. It is usually cause by low immune system, but again you need Mitaban to cure it and only a vet can prescribe. Good Luck!

  12. go to the vet before it gets worse

  13. Go to the Vet dude i can't even believe you said it won't fit into your bills by taking your hound to the vet ?? Damn dude i was just talking to another Kennel tonight about this ppl that own these animals and can't afford to feed or take care of them in anyway they need to be taken care of. Those ppl and not saying you might be one of them, should not own an animal at all JMHO Not trying to be a dick or anything but when your kid /kids get sick or your wife or family member gets sick are you like sorry just deal with it yourself >IT WON'T FIT INTO MY BILLS< LMMFAO !

A trip to our vet is like $22.00 for the office visit per dog, treatment of course could be higher, however if you took the dog to the vets they can more accuratlly diagnose. Once you know what it is your dealing with, it may be possible to treat it much more cost effectivly than your vet will do, key point though, you gotta know what your dealing with first......;)

Call your vet, see if they will do a payment plan for you. If this is mange, you want it taken care of before it gets worse.
