she doesn't have a ped. . Got her from a small town in Arizona. Had to drive 3 hrs to get her.
I did see the parents. she's going to look like her mom. exact same markings, even on the back legs.

 

Forgive me for saying this, but why, why, why do people keep buying from BYBs producing unregistered dogs??? If you want a pit bull & don't care about the bloodline or having a pedigree, why not go to a rescue? There are tons of great APBTs of every color & every age (to include puppies) who need great homes who are there through no fault of their own (owner moving, divorce, etc.). By going to a rescue you save the lives of TWO APBTs - the one you adopt & the one the rescue can now take in since you created a vacancy for another dog.

I visited the shelters numerous times(every off day of work, checked petharbor frequently), but they were always unwilling to help tell me if the dog is animal aggressive, specifically with cats. I have 2 cats that the dog has to get along with, as well as a mini dachshund and an adopted APBT mix, and he hates the cats. I would have rather adopted, but the puppies usually go fast anyways, and looking for an adult dog was hard if I couldn't tell their temperment towards other animals. I figured I'd still be saving a life by getting from a BYB cause she will be going into a good home, and won't end up on the streets/shelters. We can't stop them from breeding their dogs.. no matter how many we adopt, they will keep churning out more. It's sad because when the BYBs don't sell the whole litter; the puppies usually end up in a garbage bag at the nearest dumpster. I really don't know if there's a solution to the overpopulation of the shelters. There are some ways, but that would involve more government intervention into our lives..

 

No disrespect intended conditionzero, but none of that holds any water. I'm sure what you said about the shelters was the truth, but sometimes you have to go that extra mile & look for *reputable* rescues like the ones that can be found at places like Pit Bull Rescue Central. Most of the rescues featured at PBRC can tell you what conditions the dogs came from, if the dog is animal aggressive, etc. Most have compete bios on the dogs they feature for adoption.

All it takes is a little more extra work to seek out these rescues, most of which many people aren't willing to put forth. It's easier for folks to buy an unregistered pup they saw advertised in the newspaper off parents of unknown lineage for $150 & be on their way, thus encouraging bad breeders by purchasing from them & leaving helpless animals in shelters & rescues to die.

As for BYBs, they can be stopped. It's as simple as not buying from them. Once enough people refuse to support them by purchasing from them & their market dries up, they will stop breeding. These people are in it for the $$$ (like the $$$ you gave) & once the gravy train runs dry, trust me, they'll find another way to make money. Maybe Amway? lol.

 

Cute pup but you do realize you have no better chance of knowing if this pup will be animal aggressive either correct? That's a tossup anytime you go with a pup. I specifically adopted adults just for that reason, both were tested with small animals and do well with them. Seeing the parents doesn't mean squat. Because you paid for that pup they will likely breed the bitch the next heat and the next to get more suckers like you. That's how byb work.
