Hello all, I've joined this forum as I need to make contact with the Stafford community, I had a few Stafford's over the past 15 years that I was happy with, I bred a couple of times , the 2nd and last breeding I made was a mother(almost 10 years old) to son breeding which resulted in a single female pup, this bitch became the apple of my eye, and I saw her as the source of my future dogs, anyway believing 'I'm alright jack' I haven't bothered trying to build & maintain relationships with other fanciers, so to cut a long story short this bitch is now 5 years old, I couldn't be happier with her, I mate her, I think she has taken but it transpires that she had pyometra and needed to be speyed to save her, so as of now I have an almost 13 year old male who will soon pass and my sterile female, I'm morning the loss of the future pups I had imagined, I love the breed and want to find a pup to replace the old male initially as a companion to me and the bitch. I was on some forums about 10 years ago and had a male that I took to some UK shows in that time, nice to see some names I recognise here, I've enjoyed reading the discussions, cheers Tom.

I know a breeder who breed the working/sport type SBT.
He's located here in the Netherlands.

JimAm ty for the kind offer, I am looking for a sporting type Stafford, I am in no immediate rush and hope that I can find what I'm after here in the Uk as the importation process is unfamiliar to me and I would not ideally want the pup sat in quarantine during its formative weeks, once again many thanks.

 

Tom there's no quarantine in EU since 2012 the rules are changed.
In the past the quarantine was I believe 7 months.
So now the rules are the same for all EU countries.

Also he has a good network of SBT breeders.(in the UK)
No puppies and breedings at this time, and he's very selective with costumers.

Ty for the link Jim, i will read it this evening, knowing there is no quarantine certainly makes it more appealing and something to consider .
If the Uk breeders have any pups spare, later this year or next I would be interested for sure. I dont know what they keep and I realise a good dog can't be the wrong colour etc but there is a couple of things I don't want in my pup to be, so I hope I don't offend if I am offered and decline a bat eared blue pup lol.
