A Wisconsin lawmaker has introduced a bill that would ban felons from owning vicious dogs.

Rep. Andre Jacque, a De Pere Republican, says Green Bay police are seeing an increase in dog fighting cases and dogs attacking officers.

Jacque says the bill doesn't target a certain breed of dog but instead calls for police to weigh the dog's behavior and determine if it's vicious. The bill says a dog that causes physical harm or leads an officer to believe it poses a significant threat could be considered vicious.

Felons found in possession of a vicious dog could face up to $10,000 in fines and six years in prison.

The police have their own problems shooting unarmed people much less trying to see if a dog is vicious or not

That is the STUPIDEST and DUMBEST idea ever. My question is how many felons own vicious dogs and how many of them actually fight them?????? So because Felons cant own firearms the next best weapon for a felon is too get a vicious dog? LMAOROTF.....a felon be like I might not be able to own any firearms but I have this 80lbs German Shepard that is a deadly weapon, now what fool , dont make me sick this vicious dog on you LMAOROTF.

Plus the reason for this new law could be because of there hidden agenda. What hidden agenda you say? The one where any officer can be judge, jury and excutioner and KILL your INNOCENT dog with or without any cause and with no repercussions or penalties towards there actions. If cops can kill HUMANS and get away with it what do you think they can get away with when killing an animal?

P.S. a cop will shoot your 10lbs chihuahua ankle biter and say that he felt his life was in danger as to the reason why he shot your dog LMAO. seriously though this is a true story.

Another BS law. That doesnt stand for Breed Specific either. Just another way of them trying to own and control sheeple.

You are totally right about this. However at the same time our beloved breed has a bad enough reputation without having some multiple felony retaining idiots with their hands on' em. Never said I haven't made mistakes in the past, but if your known for being a clown and constantly getting in trouble, probably not the best move to place one of these animals in their hands.

Because then they F-up and it gives all of us that own this particular breed a bad name automatically. Weather "we" have felony charges or not. Just being honest.

Most of the felons I know aren't "clowns". Most of the "clowns" with multiple felonies will never have an interest in owning a dog because they spend most of their time in and out of jail/prison.

I would like to pass a bill making it a felony for lawmakers to pass stupid azzed laws --- but then we'd have to build more jails !!!
