What're some of the biggest mistakes you've made with these dogs?

Unfortunately we've all made mistakes what are some that stand out to you?

Some of mine include: getting animals from salesmen, putting dogs in the wrong/irresponsible hands, and having more dogs than I could handle at one time.

In each of these situations I didn't do right by the animals and it led to some really needless losses.

Mistake 1 was assuming no one else was walking they dog at 2am.Mistake 2 was having mine off leash.Mistake 3 w,as not having a break stick with me at the time.So you can guess what happened.luckily we got them apart before too much damage was done and the owner of the other dog was cool headed about it.I knew better and so I didn't think I learned a lesson I just felt dumb.3 mistakes in 1 night.I think I'm all out of mistakes

for me, I would say long ago I did to much to soon with a dog . The lesson cost me a good dog even worse cost me a good friendship with my grandfather as he stopped talking to me for many years after that.
when we are younger we think we know All, sadly some of Us still think such even when headed to our grave.

    Allow time,

Looking back there's so many regrets, most have to do with people and the fact that these dogs bring out the worst in so many of them regarding greed, petty jealously, and just plain cruelty.
As far as the dogs, my biggest regrets are allowing a few of them to show just how big their hearts really were.

My biggest mistake with the dogs was not keeping every single one I bred until otherwise. Then getting out to only want back in wtf was I thinking about..... Driving miles only to realize years later why the breeder let these pups go. Lol the good ones seem to be closer than I imagine as well. And not breeding my main male more often. Although to me mistakes somehow make you better. JMO

Mistake no.1 was trusting people I should never have had anything to do with.
No.2 was checking if my stud was worthy being a stud and letting it go too far.
No.3 was assuming everyone was havinthe same noble ideas I had, whilst they were just out to cheat me.
No.4 was not appreciating what good dogs I got for free.

Like Thunder98, I deeply regret never breeding that dog more. He sure put them down real nicely. I just bred him once and the other litter was stolen by people I considered friends.
Discovered he had that 2nd litter more than a decade later. Different bitch but with similar results.

I was once told that I cared more about my dogs than my ex and our son. Trying to do the "right thing" and keep my family I got rid of the dogs. I will never make that mistake again.

Thirty years later realizing how stupid I had been with the dogs and how really forgiving they had been. Believing that they all liked people. My Boomrang bred male did not. He loved his family; not his neighbors. I still managed to survive my severe case of stupid; without bites, gun fights, or law suits.

Mistakes ? Ah Shit ! Too many for me to type. Lol ! Im a Trooper, A natural born hustler out here Reprezentin the struggle man ! I took my street skills and my God giving talent and ability and applied my self in something good, instead of something bad ! So, now im Towing, buying and selling cars & trucks and Im making more money honestly than i ever have before. Un honest money brings misery. A thousand mile journey begins with 1 step ! I restarted my life by getting on my knee's & asking God to forgive me ! Now Im in the action business, and God is in the results business. When prayers go up, blessings come down! 1 last thing, To whom much is giving, much is required......Dex

Great idea for a thread. Hopefully others can learn from our mistakes. I've made mistakes and still do, but every one teaches a new lesson. Here are some of my mistakes; Buying dogs without going to see them, being too naive and trusting people, not showing a great and worthy dog, when all indicators show he is up for it (opposite of pushing too far) and allowing myself to breed more dogs than I could handle at one time to name just a few. I have also made the same mistakes as many of you guys have.

good thread..and it would help people not to do the same....

    1. buying a dog without proper knowledge and research about the breed and dogs heritage ( same money spent could have gotten a way better dog )
    2. Imposing the dog on an unwilling living situation
    3. Trying some to early..good thing these dogs were not ruined and forgave me and decided to show what good a little patience can do for us both.

Im sure I made more mistakes than these some i probably cant see as I am probably making them as we speak but the upside of mistakes is the knowledge you gain from them is second to none

Thanks for posting what mistakes you made as I am learning from yours as well
