So you're basically saying you were never in a good enough living situation to even own a pit bull, I agree.

you get used to it, when we encounter shit like this, we just laugh and if they don't stop, we tell our dogs the bark command. Just the other day, I was chillin with my friend and he had his dog on him. The dog is an american bulldog, he isn't even a Scott line but the Johnson line Bulldog and a big one too. The boy is 3 1/2 years old an stands 26 inches at the withers, 125 lbs. conditioned. He is Asian and we walked by while a bunch of Afghani kids came up to him and said "Somebody's hungry huh? That's one ugly pit *cocky grin*." In response, my friend said "yeah, how'd you know? My boy loves Halal food" and told his dog the bark command. The three kids pissed themselves and ran off LOL. One thing that comes with owning an apbt or any breed that superficially resembles an apbt in the public's eyes are to deal with a shitload of stuff. It is best to just laugh it off and if they don't stop, well you can always do what my friend did LOL.

Can't really say I see anything wrong with working the dog inside a baseball field that's completely enclosed when nobody is around. If someone did happen to enter the field without being seen, they saw you and entered anyway so that's on them as far as I'm concerned.

From what i have found as i have looked is most not all fields have no gate but a small opening with a small fence in front as for the ball to not get out but you can just walk around it. A dog can however run out through this real quick like i have seen it many times when my dog was a pup at the dog park and people would have dogs that just loved to take off. I have spent hours driving to every fenced in field i could find looking for a fully enclosed one only to strike out. After hours of looking the only safe thing i found was tennis courts. They are fenced at least ten foot high, and most always have doors that close. I have always tried to find ones that are abandon for the most part and people dont use as to limit people walking up on me. I then take my leash and two padlocks and lock myself into the thing. Sounds crazy and might piss of someone that did decide they wanted to come in but i could give a shit less so long as they dont sneak up on me and my dog and something bad happens. I figure ill see them coming leash my dog and unlock the gate. I bring two leashes! Although i have my own house it is small on a small piece of land. I finally decided that my love of these dogs warrants a much bigger yard so i am selling and moving within the year. Hence i refuse to spend big money on fence or labor and a little money on a shitty fence that will make the house harder to sell and be a eye sore in the mean time. Unless that dog is under lock and key it is not safe and i am sure you will run into a problem sooner than later. maybe you should think about a dif living situation if you rent you could get a house and rent a room?

it's a brand new baseball field the fence is probably about 10ft all around I walked it through several times there are no holes and only two gated doors that you close and know one is going to come inside when they see you there already it's pretty much a first come first serve basis here whether it will actually be used for people to play with their dogs or people to practice baseball/play baseball or soccer. I don't even have to worry about any of that because I am going in the early morning/early afternoons or late evenings when everyone is indoors just like those of you who choose to walk during those times to "avoid" others and or their dogs:dogstare: or are those of you who do that just not in a "good enough living situation to own a pit bull"? ;)

Not sure about others, but I don't think it is a matter of being in "good enough living situations" near as much as it is being an intelligent dog owner. I personally don't give a flying fuck what you do to your dog or what you do with it....the only reason I am saying what I am saying is because you never know what can happen, and if anything ever does happen, and your dog is off leash on public property not only will it be your ass in a sling (not my concern), but it will be another headline in the news which would translate to yet another nail in the coffin....another "pit bull attack" no matter if your dog was defending itself or you.....if the dog is off leash you will be taking it up the ass from all angles. I don't understand why you even posted this thread if you were going to argue, and basically tell everyone to shove their suggestions up their asses. I am not trying to be rude to you, I however am trying to get something to sink in that thick skull of yours. As APBT owners we are held to a higher standard of vigilance, and responsibility than the rest of the dog owners out there...you should know this by now. Do whatever the fuck you want as it seems you aren't open to any advise at all....you want to argue, and fool yourself, tell you what go for it...see how far that gets you. Part of me want's you to see the light, but then again the other part of me want's your "pit bull" to run into a real bulldog on one of your work out sessions, and get it's chest pulled right the fuck out. Good thing you have that collar though it helps with the public image especially when your animal is running off the lead.

In a public place anyone can use it and enter it at anytime regardless if they seen you with your loose dog or not thats why there are LEASH laws...If your dog is unleashed and I enter the baseball field with my dog on a leash and your dog attacks mine its your fault because I had my dog restrained and you didnt that simple.

Whats up JnZ, nothing to say? Go ahead, and roll it over in that empty head of yours for awhile.

  13. Well I've refrained from posting in this thread because I didn't want to listen to all the pussy chasers giving her a pass! LOL

I must say though this is about exactly what I would have said.

Good deal...the funny thing is that you actually think I care enough about you or your dog that this comment would bother me....like I said before the only thing I give a flying fuck about in this situation is something possibly happening, and you being yet another nail in the coffin....why did you even bother to post this thread?

Yup i think common sense tell you depending on what forum you are on what you will get support on and what you will not. Did you really think DG was gonna have sympathy for your situation. I could really give a rats ass either except for BSL and whatever poor dog your dog gets. I got dog restrictions going on 20 min to the east of me a hour to the west and ten minuted to the south. Im up and moving so i can have more dogs and the life with em they deserve and need and i might find out someday i cant even keep these dogs cuz some thick headed selfish fools dont wanna leash there dog. i am not one for all these fucked up laws but it is the law for christ sake just like its a law i cant freak the fuck out on people when i have my dog leashed and they dont. i am also not a snitch so i am just going to the country where i dot have to fucking deal with retarded people in regard to my dogs as we can all just be happy at home! This shit just goes to show why real pit bull owners dont want everyone in the world owning them!

JnZ, you really need to grow up and take some reponsibility for the situation you're putting not only your dog but all "pit bulls" and their owners in. I don't blame anybody for being scared of your dog with that damn gladiator collar on it.

Is it really that big of a deal to put a leash on your dog? If you get a 50 foot line and tie one end to you, your hands are free and it will hardly interfere with the dog.

if you are going out in public with your dog unleashed, I hope you do not say its an apbt

    lawls

I guess you know best, you really told us!! Hell, I don't even know why I am in this thread, I must have clicked the wrong one, I thought I was entering a thread about a clueless soon to be a statistic newb who just had an incident in a park. I didn't mean to click on a thread about a seasoned vet who knows everything and goes to parks where there is a 100% chance nothing is going to happen.

Well, I'm outta here, I'm going to go find the right thread and tell that person that I am with fblb and give a flying fuck about what happens to that person and their dog. Although I hope I get that collar when the HSUS puts the dog down, I really want to make my dog look tough, ya know?
