Hey all. It seems to me that some people are continually misunderstanding the purpose of the Game-Dog forums. Game-Dog is not, nor has it ever been a place for dogfighters to discuss their current practices, methods, successes, failures, or any type of involvement in the sport of dogfighting, which has been illegal since as early as 1866, and a federal offense since 1976. The primary intent of these forums is to promote a positive image of the American Pit Bull Terrier, and to provide intelligent and civilized discussion about the characteristics of the breed, its care, containment, history, the myriad of problems the breed and its owners are facing today, and like conversation. Dogfighting is an incontrovertable part of our magnificent breed's history, and this history may be cordially discussed, but this site will not become a tool to educate people in how to fight dogs! Let me make this official: Game-Dog Dotcom does not condone the sport of dogfighting, and there will be no further promotional discussion of it!

To forum moderators: You are expected to know the difference between the "promotional discussion" of dogfighting, and discussion which is beneficial to understanding this breed and its history. You are required to enforce the rules, but don't get censor-happy. Put some intelligent thought into your decision before you delete a thread or a comment. Over-moderation is unnecessary and detrimental to the success of this site, so please use good judgement.

    Thank you everyone.

    I agree guys ;)

As much as I like to read about a handful of the old stories -and there are wonderful examples of true heart and deep game in many of them- the site as a whole is the most important thing to consider. To continue to implicate the site in talk which can easily be interpreted as pro-dogfighting is to lose the site and also possibly put administrators and/or the site owners in jeopardy of losing their dogs or even getting into deeper trouble. We are supposed to positively represent the American Pit Bull Terrier in its true form- to engage in such talk is to continue to lose any foothold we may have gained to keep the gamebred APBT breed alive and we will eventually lose the breed as we know and love it forever. Nobody upon nobody will ever support or give credibility to "dogfighters" so any association should be cut completely. I've noticed that outside people are receptive when I've asked them not to refer to the gamebred blood as "fighting lines"- but that will only stand for so long if people who breed the blood and keep the yards sound off as if they advocate dogfighting. It's to the point that a big enough "yard bust" could practically wipe out a line, so why should anyone run that risk? Romancing about dogfights of old or constant current references to game testing or what have you does in fact implicate the site as a "dogfighting" site, no matter how much some may feel it does not. Putting a stop to such talk doesn't mean the site has gone "pet" or "lame" or whatever- it just means we are one step ahead in saving our collective rear ends. Keeping our dogs and families together -not in jail or the clutches of HSUS- is our most important objective now, IMO.

Who cares about that silly shit! Did you see the captions of what the the Humain org has labled some of these photos as? The gamedog needs to stay on the DL. If ppl were smart they would close thier circles. I have no interest in teaching or introducing any one to the gamedog.

My interest now is only to teach ppl how to care for the aniamls. Can I stop or influnce one not to breed animals out of standard....Shit NO! I can only encourage them to be reponsible. Fighting legitlation....btw it is an election year!

Folks that have gamedogs are going to have to learn how to keep these dogs out of trouble. First thing, quit talking to ppl that you dont know or that cant provide refferences! Second thing clean up your yards! dont leave shit laying around. another thing, think about building those pens, cause it's coming.

    you cant fix stupid!

Edit: I sat threw this lecture last year. From a medical and husbandry position it was fantastic! I encourage any one that houses more than one dog or takes thier animals in public to to check this site out.

Rockstar I really applaud how you get the point across and at the same time point out how censor happy moderating aint the answer, we just need to know the difference between discussion and education and boasting and illegal activity discussion....which to me isnt very hard to distinguish.

Simms as usual I agree with your angle completely (Albeit the "silly shit" part. You want a piece a me or sumthin? lol :P) All I'm saying is whether we like it or not people DO focus their interests on the gamebred dog. It's up to us to keep the APBT in a positive light. :) Closing circles is the perfect solution. Unfortunately everyone who owns the APBT isn't perfect :(

    Rockstar,

After reading much on this website, I agree there is much questionable material. It is in everybody's best interest to refrain from posting such irresponsible things on the internet. These types of things are what is fueling the fire and hatred toward our breed in the modern age. Irresponsible people putting pointless information out there to be gathered as more nails to seal the coffin. I for one like the fact that the pretend doggers are not being allowed to bring the breed to it's knees through mindless crap that anybody who needed to know, would already know!

Keep cleaning as it seems there is much garbage to take out. I see some of it has been already. I'll just leave it at that.

I just wanted to re-iterate, and re-emphasize some of the things Rockstar started off with.

To get it out in the open, before I type anything more lets make one thing clear. I have no sympathy for some idiot, partaking in illegal activities with our breed of choice, and discussing it in such a manner to get themselves arrested. If this offends you, save yourself some time, and leave the forum permanently. You are doing more harm for the community than any good you imagine yourself doing. Again, if you cannot abide by your governing nations current laws and legislation, feel free to ask for your membership to be terminated.

This site has not, does not, and will never be for the advocation of dog-fighting. From day one, we have had LEO, government officials, and other high-ranking members who have blessed this forum with their knowledge and openness. There have been posts in the past (which we are attempting to clean up as we speak) where moderation was relaxed, for whatever reason, and some questionable material slipped by. No more, will these members, or any other members be put in jeopardy by some idiot spouting off at the keyboard. It is not fair to the vast majoirty of us who have done nothing wrong, to be in danger because of a few members bad decisions. The diversity of membership on this forum is astronomical. As varied as people who have fallen in love with this breed, no doubt. Keep in mind, we have members from every walk of life attending. Try your best to not intentionally offend. Think about your post before hitting submit, and the variety of people who will be viewing it.

It seems every few months, we must make an annoucement to remind people what this site is about, and the discussions we will not allow. We receive good feedback from the majority of members, and things straighten out for a week or two then the shit starts flying again. Those we are directly speaking to tend to lay low, let it blow over, and continue once more, not taking these annoucements seriously. This is as serious as it gets folks. Speaking personally, this is the last annoucement I see myself making on this matter. If things do not get better, and we cannot keep this forum on track, there is no reason to continue devoting hours a night, Marty & Shon's money, and neglecting other interests in our life, to put ourselves at risk for an internet dogger. We all love this site to death, or we wouldn't be here posting these and trying to keep the forum up and running.

Most of Staff has become very close discussing these matters time and time again, growing to a close-knit group. I care for these members safety, as I do my own. Those I have become closest to, has expressed the same concerns as I have. We all work full-time jobs, with a few dogs to care for, and family to tend to. Because we do all have jobs and other priorities, there may be periods of time where a post goes unseen by Staff for a few hours. I would ask all members who care for the forum, to report such posts, so we receive a warning immediately upon logging in. If it is questionable in the least, report it. We review all reported posts before the other new posts. Even if we decide the post is "ok", if it raised your suspicion, it's worth reporting. This is truely a community, and it's maintenance and growth is the responsibility of all members. Please do you're part to protect the future of the site.

Finally, as has happened in the past, respectable/personable members have been afforded more opportunities than was arguably fair. I do not care if it is my boss, a family member, or best friend posting in a threatening manner....there is no more favortism, they will be banned as quickly as my worst enemy.

Since Rockstar made this annoucement, I'm impressed with the change that has taken place. This is the path we need not stray from. This is a wonderful forum, lets keep it clean and active.

    Thank you.

Wow that brought back some memories the site about Marion County.. I was in court all day after that trying to speak out for the dogs in Marion County I even went on KLTV because one of the dogs at the fight was one of mine that had been stolen.. I had proof pictures and everything even the police report from when he was stolen.. the SPCA refused to give him back saying that he would never be the same dogs again, and he needed to be put down.. I was crushed how can they kill him for doing what he had to do to survive...... Anyway I don't want to get all emotional but the bastards who ran that ring in Marion county a few of them got away and live not even three miles from me and have a yard full of batterd half starved dogs and no one will do anything about it... But they want to tell my friend who has healthy show dogs that she has to get rid of half of them due to city ordance.. What is the world coming to? I worry just as much for my dogs future as I do for my childrens Future..

"Pit Bull Community is dedicated to the preservation of the pit bull in its original form as a game-bred dog and in its modern incarnations as a loving companion pet and top competitor in weight pull competitions and conformation shows. We are opposed to all forms of animal cruelty, and do not promote any illegal activities, but we celebrate the history of the pit bull and value its qualities of courage, strength and tenacity as the essence of the breed. We are therefore against all forms of breed-specific legislation, and work to protect the constitutional rights of pit bull owners."

You cant have game dogs without testing gameness. Weight pulling isn't a game test. Hog huntin doesnt test gameness. there IS O NLY ONE WAY TO TEST GAMENESS and that is in the pit!

We ahve postings on this site from a blog that is anti dogfighting.

So we cant discuss dogfighting and i understand why. But why let that dumb blog post on here and call it a game dog site? Dont work that way son!
