don´t ever tell me how to train a dog mate.......A F**KING TREADMILL IS SHIT.....tell me for an example when you can see a dog is in his maximam puls rate........I have never had a dog come into maximam puls rate on a treadmill.

Hey envys mom. I'm from london england and have always had staffords . The breed standard says they should be 14-16" and 38lb but I'm afraid thats the kc ruining what is a terrific breed. All around england we are trying to get our dogs looking more like they used to, more athletic and 17-.19" and weighing a bit more. our dogs should be fit though never over weight. Here is mine 18 months 17" 42lb. He will put more weight on in the next 6 months. Then I will really work him to lean him up. Don't think its fair to over work ur dog until he's 2 years let him grow naturally. Regards perry from London

To bad the days of the Staffordshire Bullterrier are over..
There realy were some nice dogs outthere (europe) but we all kno how sertain dogmen just dont respect what they got.

and in the end of the day you end up with nothing, just some good old dogmen story's

Sure hope there is some pure blood out there but as far as i kno. it aint what it use to be

with real working staffords it should be as in with apbt, no matter where the blood should come fom.
The so called 'irish' or english line, al that name calling, you breed to what you think is worth breeding.
a gamedog is a gamedog. if you stil try to breed to a standard you get blinded.
a stafford that can hold it's on in the [] is usely build like al working bulldogs anyway.
so what is it in a name ?
american, irish, english, a working dog is a working dog.
The only pitbull is the dog that has set foot in a pit and is most of the time from the bull & terriërs lines.
Some can be build like a bull some like a terriër, the [] is the only place to settle if it is worthy of beeing a pit dog aka a pitbull terrier, jmo
If you want to breed a staffordshire bull terriër get yourself a stafforshire bull terriër but if you want a working dog get a working dog stop getting attached to names and lines.
These so called irish lines are nothing more of a mix of breeds never bred to 1 standard, it worked or it didn't.

@ tamthebam thanks but i am just getting so tired over al these discusions about where they come from and what they should be called.
It wil never get resolved and since we do not have a time machinne to go back and see what these first old timers would say about what they should be called.
But i think 99% didn't give a rats ars about a name as long as the dog provided and produced.

@ elmo this i mean just in general.
Some of these blokes that call those dog SBT's but they fall way out of the SBT standards, so infact you do not have a SBT.

Regarding, mallen's group best intentions, they decided to created a breed out of working dogs.
The general public got some taste of it, clubs where formed that would proceed to carry on those dogs.
In time al of those clubs have changed the standards according to their likes in SBT.
Now we may not al agree from a working standard but the SBT is a breed and they made the changes that they wanted to it.
No working man would have agreed to those standards but then again they also wouldn't with the 1936 standard imo.
Because if they wanted a more bulldog type to use because that dog worked better they couldn't because of the standard ?.
So why would any working man today, say with pride they have SBT.
It isn't a working breed for a long time, if you stil have the working dogs, you have bull & terriërs.
The onces i have seen sure do not look like those show dogs you see walking on the streets.
But now al of the sudden you hear the term 'atlethic stafford', sporting stafford' and working stafford.
LMAO, a stafford is a stafford, like the am staff is what it it and the bully is what is it.
    Al bred for show.
a gamedog is a gamedog but that doesn't make it a pitbull, that's when competition comes to play and the [].
if you did not do any 1 of those things even if your dog's sire is a Gr Ch you have nothing more then a gamebred dog.
To many take pride in a name they do not deserve even in the americans you see it a lot.
Why call you dog a pitbull if you do nothing with it as a bit of exercise and show's or pulling and stuff ?
You sure as hell can not call it a breed ? even if you put american for it.
a breed needs to have certain specific standards and al apbt breeders who claim they work say that it shouldn't matter.
The pitbull has no standard, so no pitbull can be called a breed.
Just a line of dogs some blood bound some not.
Think the name pitbull is way to much used by people who do not deserve to use it.
You either have a gamebred dog, a game dog after you have tested it or a pitbull once you decided to do some hunting, jmo
