Look back in the gallery, you might see some of Whiskey's dogs, they were nice. Unfortunately the family lost all their dogs except one, I believe, and everything they owned in Katrina. I don't think Whiskey comes on the site anymore.

I know in this country these bully bred dogs are being just bred for looks without consideration for temperament, I assume that in the future we unfortunately will see more of these attacks as this "breed" grows in popularity

  4. We all agree if a dog doesn't have "papers" to prove pedigree, it ain't for sure purebred. When you drive through a neighborhood and see a house with a dog, let's say a beagle, you'll think "that's the house with the beagle". You wouldn't say " oh, nice beagle mix" when it fits the beagle breed description exactly. I think unless someone wants a certain breed for what it was originally bred for, look for a similar dog in shelters. I do believe breeding should be left to the professionals, although times are changing and the American Bully is recognized in an org as its' own breed, but not every... properly bred "blue pits" are great bulldogs. But yea, the problem is people breeding dogs because they think it's going to be a quick buck, and who knows where the pups end up.

I kind of disagree on the papers part. And the properly bred blue pit being a great bulldog. It doesn't take a piece of paper for most people to know a purebred apbt when they see one. Secondly I'm not sure there are any properly bred blue apbts out there.

    Sincerely Yours, Cajun

Their are some very nice blues being used for catch work .Very nice ..Remember its the man behind the dogs. Not saying they are pit dogs because the ones I see are not. They are bred for catch work and are very sound dogs all the way around.I see them as a breed of their own .

I am only giving examples of what I have saw..These can be culled and worked and with the right man behind them the ones I see are a pleasure to be around.Very sound animals. Now of course I am only speaking what I saw personally. But none the less I do see it with my own 2 eyes..and they are family bred.

Yea I was mainly referring to instances where a lot of the breeding is based on color

Yes that's what I am talking about Cajun. You don't have to add any other breed to these blue dogs..The family bred dogs I saw are all blue..every single last one and they are healthy and make solid catch dogs..I have also saw families that were not blue that are good also...What alot people found out is these blues are a lot easier to handle when hog hunting but they don't lack anything if worked and culled right..

I seen a yard full of blue/blue fawn dogs that were nice dogs. I never owned any but a friend had a few from said yard, that were pretty good. Those are only ones I've ever seen. They were long and rangy type dogs, bit on the tall side.

    Sincerely Yours, Cajun

I know a few guys that have some. My buddy that had some nice oneswent down road for 3 years and his disappeared. I see a lot these days though that prob couldn't run fast enough to catch a hog! I can understand how they would be easier to handle and work with, especially with other dogs
