I still feel like Conor should have a lot more ground work training.. I don't understand it, Mendez clearly shows the hole and yet you still can't even use basics guards to stop a full mount? Granite he was in panic mode but seasoned guys don't get caught like that.

Conor is a mess on the ground, which imho, Nate showed again, especially when he is in trouble, his inexperience showed, he didn't know what to do, so he gave up, more seasoned fighters with less ground game could of at least prolonged it. Gassed or not, he should of been able to stop that full mount and he damn near gave him his back not even trying to fight back.

I guess i can understand the whole giving in and tapping because you're gassed but his ground game is still very weak compared to other fighters. If Conor had to deal with a wrestler he would be fizzucked, let alone one trained in Jiu-Jitsu.

I think his next few opponents are going to take it to the ground asap unless their ground game is as bad or worse lol.

Didn't the judges score the bisping fight for him even though he was ko'd by a knee? Let's not bring the judges into this. They've proven to know even less about fighting than you on multiple occasions... you're a Connor fan and can't just accept he lost(from beginning to end) lost to a much better fighter. You keep labeling your opinions as facts but the facts remain Connor was out boxed then choked out by a much better opponent.

That is what I'm saying from the start. McGregor lost the fight by that!

That's what hit the wall means. Either physically or mentally exhausted. He was good the first round, he did more damage but output was even to me. Second round he was toast. He was praying Nate walked into a punch and fall out cold. Sometimes when you hit the wall, it's very sudden. No offense, but IMO you would have to spar more than one time a week. If you meant one DAY a week, and in that day spar more than one person and gas totally. I understand. If you go ALL OUT when you spar, soon you'll hit the wall. I don't mean trying to kill your opponent, I mean give it everything you have. Conor would have a better chance at a lower weight, but I think it would be the same result

Nate is known for his gas. His Cardio is usually on point.

It was an upset for many but anyone who knows sports in general knows not to count someone out beforehand.

It's too many factors in combat or any sport to sleep on an opponent.

Ability, Condition, opportunity, heart, intelligence, experience, mindset, luck etc.. And one dynamic can be the difference between a win on any given night.

    Congrats to the victors

True! The Diaz bros fight all night! I called the fight on announcement. Conor is a one trick pony. At a lower weight Conor might have a puncher's chance, that about it... He has no ground game... Sub him out coach! Lol

Them boys been that way since they hit the scene. I think Nate used to get tired in the longer fights but thats when he was first starting out on the UF. They can take punches obviously and neither mind standing with any fighter.

The fact a guy with no ground game(Connor) is the most highly touted and paid fighter in UFC history, should be telling us all something about the TRUTH, of this sport.

It's a popularity contest, as with most things these days. They put the media hype on who they want to be considered "best"

Im with you on that one! Ive been following the UFC since they didn't use gloves and no weight classes lol. It's deff went downhill, it reminds me of the WWE now. All hype and bullshit to sell tickets. Like i said previously, the good old days of real fighters and legends are over. Dana has always been good at keeping certain fighters away from each other. Anyone with common sense can see it.

Also who cares what Dana says he is a fight promoter, remember Don King? same thing, just another carnival barker.

Dana is a bitch, he has ruined more of the UFC than people will ever know. Conor is his golden egg so he will be hyped that way while anyone who actually watches the fights can see Conor is a bitch to, he didn't climb ranks like he should have and he just ain't a great fighter, punchers chance.. If you ain't got ground game these days you aint shit but a boxer.

I don't like White either, but don't compare him with King.... lol
McGregor is getting payed more, because he has a nation that buys PPVs!
I wasn't surprised that Diaz won. Actually I had a conversation with a friend of mine the moment they announced Diaz as replacement and I said to him that Diaz will win cause of his reach and bjj. I changed my mind after the first press conference. McGregor was all over mentally. He lost when he found that wall...(still can't understand the expressio but anyway!)

I said the same thing when i found out Diaz was the one.

"The Wall" is a phrase used often by runners that do marathons. When training, they will get to a point of exhaustion and feel like they can't go any further, hence "hit the wall", it's a mental and physical thing. It's the people who hit that wall and continue to go that do well, even if they aren't running anymore and are maybe walking or sprinting, they still at some point felt like they could no longer continue but did.

Macgregor and Diaz didn't have to cut weight. MacGregor faced a fighter who was larger than him and had a longer reach for the first time in his UFC Career. He wasted lots of energy throwing "Spinning Shit" as the Diaz Bros would say.

Nate didn't have long to prepare and was skinny fat chilling on the beach two weeks beforehand. The reason Nick Diaz has such great cardio is he loves to compete in Triathlon's, when he's not smoking the herb that is.

Always been a fan of Nick but not really keen on Nate until he improved his boxing.

No question that Conor was hurting Nick early on but Nick is durable and presses the action. He has improved a lot since his loss to Josh Thompson.

Conor sells fights and has made Nate some good money compared to what he was earning per fight before. Red Panty night in both households after that pay day.

Macgregor cuts a lot to make 155lbs and he has a size and reach advantage on most in that division but at 27 he might find the cut too much. Fair play to him for moving up to 170lbs for a payday.

Hopefully MacGregor vs Aldo next then a fight with RDA for the belt if he wins.

Aldo was champion and hadn't lost for a very long time before that fight so deserves a rematch asap once he's ready.

Joe Duffy is still my favourite Irish Fighter despite his last loss and hold a quick submission victory over MacGregor about 5 years ago.

Conner faced adversity and couldn't hang with Nate, easy to say watching but he got hurt and that changes everything. He struggled with Nates reach getting in his usual footwork and unauthodox striking and had to take damage when he usually has the reach advantage.
