Skull dogs? Anyone having success with this line?

Saw a grandson of his...not impressed. Is anyone running this line with success?

No, personally i havent seen any.......but my buddy seen a handfull of em and wasnt impressef. Another associate used to run the shit n culled his whole yard! Lol

Im sure theres a handfull of good dogs from every line- shit i would hope so! But theres other eli dogs that throw better percentages.

 

True indeed L.W.G. can't base an opinion off of 1 hound or ever one kennel really, but he came soooo highly touted from the owner and breeder...plus he's a MOSTER on the chain...for what that's worth. His dad is a champion as well...point being, ALL THAT DON'T MEAN ISH!!!!!! LOL. That was my first and only pure Eli/Boudreaux dog I've seen. People around here run other stuff. That being said, I know there are some good one's out there, there has to be. Just wondering where are they? Seems like you pretty much had the same experience I had with this line, to a degree Lol.

 

folks are catchin hogs with em..........id just rather roll with odds of 1/10 rather that 1/50 lol, im not sayin there arent good dogs outta that stuff id just think youd be cullin alot before finding your world beater lol, now id take somethin off MC in a heartbeat, just dont personally dig it through herman or maverick but to each is own.......

 

I had an ole Skull and Durango Red bitch here for awhile that i was very impressed with. Now the Badd ASS gyp never came on hard but when she had enough she was the strongest gyp i ever layed eyes on but wouldn't go back across. Type to just lick you to death and look around smiling. Also had one out of Clemmons Little LuLu and 10 Grand that was alittle killer!! If you go with the Skull make sure it has the Six Bits in it!! It works good that way

 

@TopBox, it's a granddaughter of SixBits off of Sonny Boy that my partner has that ain't nothin to play with!!! I hear the best way to go with the Boudreaux blood is through Reno or Cowboy Jack.

 

find some Eli/Carver and add a sum Bolio or Bolio/Tombstone

i have had success with the skull/cowboy blood crossed into chinaman stuff through mojo rising and simba. i have seen several skull bred dogs down from gr ch llantas in mexico, and they are average dogs that took the L about every time id seen one. i think it works best as an outcross, and when i see some of the peds out threre it is obvious they are not bred to hunt but for pretty puppy peddling papers.

 

I got a Skull x nigereno she was a slow starter. But she's a he'll raiser now. My homeboy has the dad 100% skull he's a hot 1. I have seen some cold skull dogs but I have seen some hot 1s to

 

you do realize that the only 100% Skull dog was Skull, right?

 

herman produced hands down. skull dogs work as good as any. junk dogs are junk regardless how theyre bred usually the problem is the person in reference having a shitty dog.

 

Can the op of this thread please show the bad skull dogs he seen??...it's obvious that really he has no clue to wat he is saying!...skull was a rom dog and produced a number of good hounds!...let me tell u wat u seen, u seen a line bred skull dog which isn't a skull dog anymore!....the blood has been peddled but so has most...if u want a good skull dog then u need to find workin kennels that deal with the blood exclusively instead of getting it from somebody who most likely is a "flavor of the month" type of person...and just because u havent seen any don't mean shit...their out there lurkin and huntin!

 

Take a deep breath, just because the dog was shit doesn't mean it didn't come from a working kennel. Some dogs are junk, period. Skull produced good dogs but he threw some shitty ones too. It happens.

People are having success with the line and if there are better eli strains out there i'd love to here what they are and why.

 

Now u take a deep breath nas!.....the workin kennels I kno would have sold him a good one because they keep them and cull before they sell any!...all dogs will throw shit dogs, of course who doesn't kno this....my point is u need to find a REAL workin kennel that runs the blood and doesn't sell as pups but instead culls the garbage before any are sold!....I kno a couple that have it and everything on thier yard will make skull proud to be in thier ped!...every skull dog is different because each owner will put his influence on their dog different from the next man!..u can go get shitty MC blood with no skull in it and it can be garbage!...it's not about the blood it's about that person behind the dogs!....and u can get garbage from a working kennel without a doubt but not all cause some really do care about their name instead of just sellin u a hound for money!...the best hounds u will ever get is when u breed ur own shit!

lol take a deep breath, I'm calm and rational. I never understood why people would get so animated over what someone else saw in a dog that has nothing todo with them. Some working kennels sell pups. Some working kennels don't. What some working kennels might deem is worth a bet might be a cull to another. It's as simple as that. Not everyone is going to be phenomenal. The man said he wasn't impressed, period.

If someone says they saw a few dogs and weren't impressed then thats their opinion. My only suggestion would be to consider that maybe they just saw a few junk ones. Now if someone thinks that a line is sub par is there is better to be had I'd like to hear how and why they came to that conclusion. Regardless none of it affects me so I'm not going to get very invested in the situation. You just seem to have taken the opinion of someone you don't know way too personally. Its all good.
