Intent of dog fighting & equipment used for dog fighting?

I don't know about all you, but as I pointed out in the most recent issue of the SDJ - I don't really understand the term “intent of dog fighting”. I mean the prosecutors must prove that the owner intentionally trained and kept a dog with the intent of entering it into dog fights! Right? So, let's make this clear! What constitutes intent? There is no definition of what constitutes intent. How do you prove intent?

Here is another interesting story: Willie Coleman was arrested and charged with 17 counts of animal fighting and one count of possessing equipment used for animal fighting. Equipment used for animal fighting? What exactly is equipment used for animal fighting? A treadmill for example? It is illegal to own a treadmill? It is illegal to use a treadmill? Oh, c'mon! In fact, possessing ANY KIND of equipment does not mean that someone has the intent to train a dog to fight or that the equipment is used in the furtherance of dog fighting. Because someone has a treadmill, does this mean they have the intent to fight a dog? Bullshit! Dog trainers of ALL BREEDS use treadmills to exercise their dogs and in no way indicates training of fighting dogs.

Dont know from the US, but in Switzerland Equipment for Dogfighting is a Breaking Stick and a Treadmill, anyone see that stuff on your yard + APBTS you get Busted within the next days.

Even if we can see this is BS as far as "possesing equipment" etc. it is all a game to get rid of the dogs, a foot in the door even though there is no legal proof behind it to take the dogs and money.......It is just funny to me that so much time and energy is spent with the law enforcement and do-gooders for some dogs, when the country and world is plaugued with evil.

The INTENT law is one of the most BULLSHIT LAWS ever made LOL. The main problem with this law is it is easy to misuse and abuse by the authoritive powers that be. It is a law made to work in FAVOR of the authority powers that be. They can TWIST and BEND the INTENT LAW as much as they want to get what they want and get away with it.

I think what they are doing is trying to add more predicates for a Rico conviction.

The dogs are one. The intent to get them in shape to fight is where the exercise equipment comes in. Then of course, the internet would be viewed as a means to communicate with other fighters which would make it a conspiracy to talk to such person. Of course, illegal steriods or drugs would also be another step.

They can make a case for intent on just about anyone owning a bulldog. From the chain you keep him on to reading material. The kicker is you lose even if you prove the charge is bull. You lose time, money and your name is printed in a column in the newspaper right between murders and rapists. The ARGs here have done one bang up job brainwashing the glue eating public. If you ever watch the hsus YouTube video they make keeping your dog chained with a good collar sound like the slave trade. They tweaked the laws much like they did with illegal drug laws. Now they don't have to prove a thing. The training equipment is just the bittersweet icing on the cake. This could be any and everything some twisted mind can come up with. From flintsones chewable vitamins to Viagra to your wife's treadmill to a broken mop handle. The charge doesn't have to stick. They just want to get the message out. One small step at a time until they reach their goal. I hate to talk doom and gloom, but this is the America we live in now. The writing is on the wall for all to read if they would only look. We recently had a third grade teacher here have her class write letters to people who keep dogs on chains. The lunacy is starting early these days.

Unfortunately, owners of bully breeds or "pit bull-type breeds" get treated unfairly when it comes to exercising their dogs. Pit Bulls are high-energy dogs and owners who want to keep their dogs fit and not obese couch potatoes use things like springpoles, treadmills, catmills, etc to get their exercise.
Because these things (as well as break sticks) are commonly found in dog-fighters houses/yards, the media and police have taken to calling these exercise tools "dog-fighting tools" (which is a bit BS in my opinion, although I don't support the use of live animals on mills).
If they find a home vet kit on your property though... that's like a major red flag for them. That's like a fuckin bank dye pack on a robber.

I wish responsible, humane pit bull owners were able to use exercise machines for their dogs without being called animal abusers.. but I can't see it happening for quite a long time

I had a problem with AC when my ex-wife sicked them on me.At the time we was fighting over visitation of my kids.I was lucky when the AC officers came to my home I had a friend over.They basically try to bully me into letting them into my house.When I asked for a warrant they still tried to walk in.I shut the door and tried talking to them.They got really rude with me.My friend stepped outside and asked if there was a problem.They (ac) told my friend to mind his own business.He then said do u have a warrant? They said Mr. you better step inside or we will call the police.My friend said don't bother he then opened his wallet and showed then his badge and then he started asking them questions. They left after asking me if I had dog fighting equipment.I said what is that.They said treadmills,harness,spring pole, any exercising equipment that can be used in dog fighting,steriods,medicines,gunpowder,dog fighting magazines and books.I laughed and told them the only gunpowder I have is the rounds in my .357,then I said to get off my property.Now this happen in the late 80's.A bit of advise don't ever let them in without a warrant.Don't leave mags/books out in the open,even in the bathroom.Learn your rights buy a small constitution handbook its only 25 pages long. READ IT, KNOW IT

thats a damn shame I know ol Willie he was a fair guy and his dog were healthy and had fresh water and clean area I dont see why they wont leave us alone.they need to think about other shit thats wrong and leave a man and a dog the hell alone

They(ac) have deep pockets and even when u win u lose.Some are able to sue for money.But the problem is I assume that most owners really put a lot of time in with their dogs(learning bloodlines,breeding,culling,spending money on them and many other things) to finally get what u have after 10,15, or 20+ years to have it wiped out.Because the first thing they(ac) do is put the dogs down.Losing your yard like that is as bad as losing it to dog thieves.So again what is the price for a lifetime of work?

If a man is willing to fight his dog, he is surely more than willing to fight against a corrupt government that bypasses the constitution and takes up fascism so it is in the governments best interest to root out and do away with any such man. The easiest way to do it is to just make up some law that will enable you to bypass any constitutional rights the person may have and in that manner put the fear into any man that may stand up to what is WRONG.

Back in the '70s they used to say,, the first thing a communist does when he gets into power is to outlaw cock fights.

It's such a shame. The media and society has this bullshit warped view on the APBT and related breeds. None of them seem to understand that the breeds prone to dog-aggression don't normally show human-aggression and that they're two different things. It's the manbiters they should look out for and if they do snag some dogs from a dogfighter, the dogs should at least be given a chance at life before being put to sleep.
Where I live, APBT and any breed that even looks like an APBT is illegal. The fear of Pit Bulls that people have is just infuriating. Fucking insane Cocker Spaniels are the ones people should be worried about. That is one of the most aggressive, prone to snap (literally, there's some sort of disorder in Cockers that causes them to snap at people but the name escapes me) breeds in the world.. yet people don't give a shit because Pit Bulls are all the rage when it comes to breeds to fear.
