They had the Kahn/Malanaggi fight on the spanish channel last night, I don't recall when that fight took place but I hope he shows more than that tonight, I never trust any fighter that comes from the UK, they usually hype them up and then they fall short (Ricky Hatton anyone?), we'll see tonight

 

is this going to be one big boxing thread? if so great because there are alot of up coming fights to talk about.

im ready for tonight. there is going to be some good HBO boxing tonight. we got the re-run of the Pay-per-view fight of coto vs margarito and the main fight Khan vs Patterson. im starting to really like amir khan, i dont think he packs too much power to be a real force. his force is that he is really quick and thats what gets his opponents. Patterson i dont think will be a run over but i dont see him winning. Maybe its a build up to fight tim bradley. the undercard with the big boys Seth michelles vs. Timur Ibragimov should be intresting i dont follow heavyweights too much but Seth looks stong as an ox.

 

I don't watch the big guys either, I usually fall asleep watching them!

I don't think Khan could handle Bradley but I'd love to see them fight!

 

i feel what your saying on the UK sport of it, but Hatton still deserves his credit. thats why we have the WBO to bring the top fighters together. he is the man on his side of the world maybe not ours lol.. khan i like, but hated him at first after he Maidana + he is backed by freddy roach and is also sparing w/manny. i dont think he will be losing any time too soon.

 

yeah the heavyweight are at a stale mate beacuse of the Klitschko's. they need to make them to fight or get them out of the game.

 

He looked good against Maidana,that was the fight he faught after getting KO'd in 1.I guess time will tell if he's another Prince Naseem or not.I'm the same way with fighters from England,but they did produce Benn,Eubank and maybe Froch will be another.

 

He's looked good in recent fights I agree, if he's in shape tonight he should be ok but Bradley is different story! Time will tell

Excellent fight!Big credit to Khan for fighting Peterson in his hometown.Peterson was all heart tonight.I wan't to see it again.IMO Khan looked like he really started to mature as a person after he was humbled by getting KO'd and then coming back to fight Maidana,but tonight he seemed to be fighting very immature.That fight was there for Khan to win,but his camp didn't bring him in right.IDK I think Freddy Roach is falling off as a trainer.It was a close,close fight,and the the points taken away can be debated,but what about the judge that had it 114-111 for Khan with - 2 points deduction...That would make her score 116-109 for Khan.

 

And they say Khan can beat Mayweather!!! LOL

Not the Khan that fought last night.It's too bad,and I really don't even like Khan,but he has alot the tools to be really good.But I doubt he'll ever be at the level of Mayweather.Actually watching that fight last night made me appreciate Mayweathers ring I.Q. even more...Khan and Manny both getting frusterated like that shows me what sets Floyd on a different level.I think the only guy right now that possiblly matches up with Floyd is Martinez,and I'd still bet on Floyd if they were to fight.

 

I was shocked at just how good of a fight Peterson put up. he was relentless the whole night. Khan only lost because of the -2 deduction and i thought that that was kind of bogus. Peterson was rushing him the whole night and thats not the type of fighter Khan is. i hope the point deductions didnt have to do w/ it being in his hometown. well they will get a rematch and that will set Khan back a year or two to be were he wants to be.

the coto fight was really good too. coto was all over the place on that fight. even if the ring doc didnt stop the fight Margarito would have still lost the fight.


How about the Heavyweight Seth Michelles he may have what it take to bring the Heavyweight title back to the USA. we need some heavy weight fighters over here maybe he might be it.

 

like most if not all british fighters coming up short again he should of lost the madinea fight got battered from post to post in the 9th and never threw back alot of refs would have stop it but what made things worse for him was when he opened his mouth and the excuses came flooding out khan needs to stop haning around the other british prick haye face facts khan is another domestic fights who is not good enough at the top level.......

 

Khan is going to win the re-match in March.
