nice looking dog, sounds like he was betrayed by his owner in the box. If a dogs a 2xw you dont risk him dieng like that theres no point in letting a proven dog go that long thats just selfish.

deffantly the case i was there and still to this day dont know if i woulda picked up all roads were leading to a victory but the hog was very much D.G. so it was no telling!

Today in the pit i did meet my match,
but my legs are broken and i can't make the scratch.

Yall can say whatever you want but it is STUPID to let a dog who has already proven himself go over 4 hours that is ridiculous. I would much rather take my dog home as a game loser and have to pay a few dollars than to have to take him home and dig a hole. But hey thats jmho.

benthere it is a vers easy decision. if you think your dog is going to lose his life then you pick up whether you are winning or not. if going for the win will cost me a dog then yes i would pick up. and to say you would not is just selfish. people talk about paper hanging and dog thieves well i think the most despicable scubags are the ones that do not pick up when the dogs life is on the line. if if i could i would put a bullet inbetween there eyes for doing it.. also let it be known there is a bog difference between knowing the outcome and a dog that goes up against an ace who can kill with one bite

 

To be honest after 3hrs ther is a good chance you are going to loose anyway. No one wants to admit that but if you have good hunters the odds go down fast after 3 hrs.

 

I know the owners of Bandit and believe me the dog comes before money with those guys. make no mistake. If you weren't there you can't pass judgement. Some have died in minutes and some have lived after going 4 or 5 hours. If you weren't there then you don't know shit.

I had Paz jr. on my yard for about a year.

 

To be honest every one that has been around a while has made the mistake of staying in the woods too long. sure some have lived after 4 hr hunts but the fact is after 3 hrs alot of time you may win but the dogs inside just cant take it . I have seen dogs pull threw long ones and live a long life. but what happens is every one gets cought up in the hunt and time just seems to fly by. and before you know it 2 hrs felt like 30 min then the next thing another hr went by. and its hard to say pick up when they look like they are strong as bulls. I am not making any judgement on any one. the only thing I hate is when you see the ones who will not pick and they have no chance. Those are the guys that are in dogs for the wrong reason.But I have seen alot of dogs look great after long hunts to only to pass after a few days. and that sucks worst than anything.

 

i agree with you j sometimes you can not tell if they seem that strong i should of specified. when you see a dog getting weaker and weaker right in front of you and think that some miralcle is going to happen and leave the dog down i can not stand that. and war dog my comment was not directed towards the owners of bandit, because like you said i was not there so i can not pass judgement. but tere has been times that after a long one one dog is just lying there in hold but not doing anything else and people still let that shit go on for about a half our or more. after three hours and both dogs are still on there feet then i would say that those dogs are freaks and there should be a draw called but most likely on dog is lying there just hanging on. and know i am not expert just someone who would put my dogs before money or victory.
