Religion has a lot to do with animal rights...this guy is saying the only reasoning behind us dominating animals is because it says so in the Torah or other religious texts. I guess we should throw out all the other things religion deems sinful too, yeah?

Yes they do. Not THIS culture though.

We must be vigilant about the AR agenda (trying to do away with eating meat, no dogs as pets - that kind of over the top crap); but I don't see the (loosely enforced) cruelty laws we DO have as over the top.
