Odd.... I've seen a picture of her before and I was SO just thinking about her in regards to this thread. I could have swore she was a Wildside dog though. I wonder where I got that idea. Anyhoo.... she's awesome! All my dogs have been on the larger side so I have a soft spot for them. :)

  8. Hard to say from the vid and I'm no expert but I'd guess 75 to 85 is as good a guess as any. The Dogo looked to be 15 to 20 heavier, around 100 lbs. Still, it was no contest. Don't understand why anyone would match non-fighting dogs with a fighting dog. It's just cruel and not sporting.

I had a 80 Lbs pit and he was a beast. I never want one than big again. He wanted to eat like a horse, and trying to stop a dog that big at getting to something they want is nearly impossible. Under 50 for me!:D

say you have a 70-80lb pitbull, well conditioned. Does it make him any worse of a dog than a 45lb conditioned pitbull? From what i see people dont seem to really like the larger dogs, is it ONLY because they are harder to handle and more to feed? or are theyre abilities not as up to par with the smaller dogs?

Generally, a smaller man is going to out perform a big man in stamina and quickness...still...if a big man and a smaller man get into it, the bigger man will typically win. Sure, when you are dealing with non-athletes a smaller man might whip a big man...but when you compare the best small men to the best big men, the smaller man never have a chance.

That said, I am talking about men, not dogs, but I believe the same is true for dogs...within reason. Too big and one is no longer athletic. Fat doesn't qualify for big.

Well, speaking from the perspective of someone who has owned all bigger than average ''pit bulls'', one of them being a 95 pound VERY driven male {no paperwork, but he is very much ''typical'' of the breed in drive and personality} I can say without a doubt, a dog that big is a PAIN IN THE ASS! lol OMG. He is seriously way too much dog for the amount of drive he has. Just imagine all the physical power of a 45 pounder, and double that. If I had to pick a ''top'' weight as a limit preference for such a driven breed, mind you I'm a small female, I'd say my 65 pounders would be the limit. Honestly though, my male doesn't eat any more than a smaller dog as his metobolism is slower. I've had 30 pounders that out ate him. He's actually VERY agile, but he's got the worst wind EVER. His sister who is 65 pounds can run circles around him. Not knocking him, as he's an AWESOME dog but I can say without a doubt, as much as I love him, I'd give my right arm for him to be half his size! lol

lol, yeah i know. i was just messing.

Damn 95lbs. Ive been told that a pitbull, of whatever weight, is much different than a different breed of the same weight. in terms of strength, drive, energy, stamina..how true is that. for instance. comparing an 80lb pitbull to an 80lb doberman, or even a 60lb pitbull compared to an 80lb doberman. is the pitbull really that much harder to handle?
