Re: Bandog question for breeders
Brick just looks like a giant red nose APBT, I'm guessing Dogue De Bordeaux cross.

Re: Bandog question for breeders
Good guess, Brick is a red nose w/ Dogue De Bordeaux, I have also used Boerboel (LOLA) my first post has some Boerboel.
I also use Presa Canario. I say away from English Mastiff and Bull Mastiff, try to use the more athletic, healthier Mastiff guardian breeds.
The most important for me is stable temperament and athletism, that's why I utilitize APBT's wash out some of the slop the Mastiff's tend to leave.
Here's one of my Presa X Pits ( Conan)

Re: Bandog question for breeders
"The most impressive large bandogge type ive seen myself was an american bulldog x rhodesian ridgeback accidental cross-came bigger than either parent with great athleticism."
I had a boxer x rhodesian ridgeback that was bigger than either parent with great athleticism. He was nearly as big as a great dane.

Re: Bandog question for breeders
Wesley R.
"Yes I'm aware that bandogs are working dogs, bred for a purpose. My reasoning for (possibly) starting my own line of bandogs is because I feel most/ almost all "purebred" working dogs have been destroyed by show breeders. Not saying that there are not still good working lines, but they're becoming increasingly difficult to come by. So my vision is to make an all around working dog. Good for personal protection, hog hunting and weight pull. I intend to breed a male APBT to a female working lines Presa canario. But not just any two dogs. They need to be proven in their respective fields of work, and health tested. This program may never happen at all, if I can't come across the right dogs for what what I need. "
Do what you want and what serves your purpose, don't worry about what these so called dogmen think.
I've been in APBT's over 20+ years, now Bandogs are my thing (still have a love for the APBT) but have no personal use for them where I live.
Dog fighting is illegal, don't hunt (live in Cali), weight pulled for a couple of years, got lots of CRIME all around me, so I developed MY ultimate
MANSTOPPERS with a excellent APBT as my foundation dog. Each dog that I introduced in MY personal program had excellent temperaments, nerves of steel, fearless, extremely athletic, clean breathing representatives of the breeds that I used to develop the dog that was right for me.

None of the pups I produced ever ended up in the pound, family and friends owned them and most lived 12-14years with no health problems, hips, elbows, etc.
