    Default My latest painting

Yup, I do paint....I haven't painted since I was 17 years old and tonight I got bit by the bug to paint. I came across some water colors and chose to use those, the last time I used water colors to paint I was 6 years old. Tonight I did something I never thought I could do, I made a realistic painting using JUST watercolors! I'm soooo proud of this..you have no idea. Watercolors are hard to work with and it was so easy to use it's not funny. I used cheap watercolors too! I only had 16 colors to choose from and I made it work!

But enough rambling here's my painting of my beloved Beagle Boy Beau!!!

    The WIP

    The result!!

    My reference picture

I was also thinking if I got enough interest, would anybody be interested in buying one of these of their dog?

Great feat for sure as I am well aware that watercolors are pretty difficult to manage and its not as easy to correct areas that diverge from what one intends visually

Applying some masking fluid can assist with that...not one for watercolor either but I have quite a few friends who enjoy it. Good likeness here and working with a limited palette can be very rewarding as it removes the convenience of the many(which vary from brand to brand) premixed colors out there. If you find you enjoy working with watercolors, try some of the Arches 140lb 22x30 sheets and cut them down to 11x15 and go to town.
