without even scrolling down bodemeister immediately caught my eye for some reason and after googling it I will take the safe bet, but rest assured that it was a purely gut reflex before I even knew it was a 4to1 fav....i think.

I am liking Take Charge Indy, Union Rags and Creative Cause(more of a personal choice than smart choice).....but Art might have got it....Hansen and Dullahan look strong too.

What is the hype with Bodemeister. I wasn't too impressed with the field at the arkansas derby? The five horses mentioned above in my post all are more proven to finish in the front.....

Saw bodemeisters last go. he's got an extra gear. Think he'll do it again. Doubt it will be by 9+ this round, but wouldn't be Surprised if he has a few lengths on the field.

What do you think about him drawing the 6th position. I think of all the contenders Hansen has the best spot out at 14 to get an early lead. The others are all 3,4,5, and 6 which makes for someone to get bumped and their feelings hurt..... I like baffert, he is one of my favorite trainers. But I think there are better riders with just as good horses out there

All horses have finished top 3, all have the stamina to go the extra length.

Bodemeister did 5 furlongs on a MUDDY track, in 59 seconds. Now that's a trooper!

He is the leading money earner in the field. His recent workout was faster then Smarty Jones as well as many other Kentucky Derby winners. He is trained by a hall of fame trainer. He is driven by a hall of fame jockey. Mike Smith is a patient driver that won't let him get into trouble. He will also put him in position to win. That being said, he could win.

Hansen is not bred for the distance. He is in a race with a ton of speed. His only chance of winning this is on the engine. Not going to happen.

    there my picks
Love the aggressive Cal Borel. Think his horse has a real shot here if, and this is going to be a big if, he can negotiate the traffic that will be all around him. We have seen him win this before from an impossible spot. Maybe.

All this being said, I boxed 5 horses in here. 3,4,6,15,16. Have a feeling that Pletcher's horses are going to be heard from today.

I also used bode on top and beneath in some exactas just in case he is that super horse that the hype is leading you to believe.

All in all, think it will be a very interesting race to watch. For some reason I have the feeling that in this above average crop of colts may in fact be the next triple crown winner. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Good luck to all those that take the plunge today.

All COULD win. it really doesnt matter who wins it is about narrowing the field down to the 5 that will be there and betting on the three that make it. I just am skeptical these great numbers will holdup in the race. It is like a race car that runs good in practice n clean air but in traffic handles like shit.
