I am starting an American Pit Bull Terrier club in mid Missouri. Anyone in Missouri or near Missouri would be able to join. If you or someone you know lives in Missouri (or near Missouri), has a passion for American Pit Bull Terrier's, wants to fight breed specific legislation, wants to show our breed in a positive light, and would like to meet others with the same goals and interest I would like you/them to be a member. I will be holding the first meeting in Jefferson City, Missouri on December 3, 2011 at 2pm (Central Time) at the Ryan's restaurant. Ryan's is located at 730 W Stadium BLVD, Jefferson City, MO 65109. The meeting will last 1-2 hours. Please leave your dogs at home for this first meeting. Just out of curiosity, is this going to be an ADBA club? If so, there is already a very active club in your area that puts on shows and does a lot for BSL. Seems it would be better to join forces with them than start another club.

Yes it's going to be an ADBA club, and yes the club is being started with the blessing of the existing club. There will be 2 clubs in MO now. That club is based in the KC area and this one will gain more interest from the rest of the state.

I def have no intentions of taking away from the Sho-Me APBTC. They are a great club! My intention is to bring more ADBA shows to Missouri, offer members that may not be able to drive to Kansas a club that is closer to them to be apart of, offer more fun shows in Missouri, and bring even more people together to fight BSL.

You got me bro, you know that for sure. The other club is dead with interest in my eyes and they are set in their ways and there is no coming back. Mike becoming the new president was the best thing that could have happened but still is dead in the water with no future growth. The club is well ran but new comers are back seated to old timers there and been that way for a long, long time and won't ever change.

Very productive. Things are off and running. We are on a membership drive now and next meeting will discuss getting our fun shows scheduled so we can get our ADBA sanction.

We aren't sure of that yet. Obviously we want to progress as fast as we can, but we have only had our first meeting at this point.

Bumping for the MO club.

We are still on a membership drive and making big strides this week. Lots of paperwork and business taken care of this week. Going to check out a show site this week. Hope to have some fun shows scheduled at our next meeting on Feb 18th.

We are trying to finalize it with the show site. At this time we are looking at June 23rd. We are working hard to avoid overlapping of any real shows in our area.
