sombody help!!!!
hello everybody
about a week i rain into this guy selling a little pit bull puppy (blue he said 5 weeks old ). i happened to have the money on my pocket so i ended up taking her home.It wasn't till after i bought her did i think to my self why he only wanted 150 for her.thinking positive i told my self it was because she had no papers and that's why she was so cheep, not because she was sick or something was wrong with her . After a day i noticed she was lousing hair from her tail and her front right paw was swollen. She also had yellowish green pussy bumps on her
I decided to give it a couple of days to see if it would get better. So after cleaning her up ( she was infested with fleas and had 4 or 5 ticks on her) she starting looking a lot better! About 3 or 4 days after i noticed that she was not trying to play at all and wasn't eating, because it was Sunday the vet was closed so i took her to a near by animal er . They said she need a blood transfusion to survive
and had 2 different times of intestinal worms
. its been a week since and she is a different puppy complete but she has no hair on about half of her tail and the back left paw is starting to swell now and the front one right one doesn't seem to be getting better . i would really rather buy something and put it on her rather than pay another outrageous vet bill
so any help is grate thanks Chris

Re: sombody help!!!!
get it to the vet to get the proper treatment or have it humanely PTS...
or you could try contacting rescue's to see if they want to take the pup...Last edited by ganja; 08-18-2010 at 07:28 PM. Reason: typo

Re: sombody help!!!!
i think you sould take her to the vet and watch her diet maybe she is alergic to something ,she was sold to you too young. i sale my with 12 weeks ,vet check dewormed vaccination microchip and health warranty for 2 years and ckc registration.
0 she is probably happy if you give her some formula for pups (no caw milk) gout milk is ok too and please don't feed her your food if you like you can cook food only for her
I hope to be of some help

Re: sombody help!!!!
She sounds like she needs Veterinary attention still, take her to the vets and have her treated and if you cant afford that have her PTS IMO.
If you want that puppy to survive, I think she needs professional attention. The fact that the swelling on her paw is still not healing a week after she was seen to would worry me.
Wishing you all the best, my heart goes out to the rest of the litter God only knows where they will end up :'(

Re: sombody help!!!!
Put it to sleep... It's 5 weeks(TO YOUNG), its infested with fleas/ticks. Its most likely poorly bred and will develop many problems down the road(temperment and health wise). Not worth it.. Put to sleep now that you have little attachment to it. And I am sorry to hear about the situation...

Re: sombody help!!!!
Dreamer: I agree. But as I am sure you already know, most vets do not spay until the age of 6 mos. Hopefully she'll be healthy by then!
Christian: If you think putting her to sleep now would be a "waste of money" wait until she gets older! Most blues with health conditions have them life long. For example, CDA is a life long condition. Allergies are a life long condition. In these cases you can only manage it, you cannot cure it. If you think $700 is a lot of money, wait until you have tallied up the costs of managing a chronic condition for the lifetime of the dog!
And besides, what kind of money do you think you will be getting out of this dog? She's a "waste of money" already. I'm not saying you have to have her PTS, but a responsible owner would be getting her spayed as soon as she turns 6 mos old, so you won't be making any money back on her.
Anyway, what did your regular vet diagnose her with & how is she doing?
Blessings ...

Re: sombody help!!!!
Christian, are you able to post any pictures of the pup?
I have a blue that used to suffer from severe skin problems and was due to be PTS for it, but a change of diet has made her 98% better.
From what im reading it sounds as though the pup is in very bad shape where only a qualified vet would be able to administer the correct drugs and doses.
Maybe try taking her to a different vet or a charity run vet, they may be able to offer help at a lower cost.

Re: sombody help!!!!
yes u are right that makes a lot of since and yes i do plan on getting her spayed. and she is dong very well since the blood transfusion. She doesn't seem to be bothered by her skin problems at all (the yellowish bumps are All gone ) this is the best she has looked since iv had her
its just the tail and other paw that concerns me but other than that she is dong really well now

Re: sombody help!!!!
EDIT: I see your puppy is doing better. Did they tell you why she needed a blood transfusion or why she had pustules on her skin?
