Female wont take!!

I have a female whp has had 1 litter of pups when owned by another person, since I owned her, I've attempted to breed her twice and she hasn't dropped any pups either time. I stuck her on the 12th and 13th day. Am I doing something wrong? She is healthy and worm free, what's up?

my female isnt ready til day 16 17..like clock work..Ive know em to be ready as early as day 8....you need to buy some progestrone test and breed her when it is at its peak level...that is when she is ovulating.
You can get them from Revival Vet supply....or go to your vet and have them do it...

Did you use the same male both time? If so might wanna check his sperm count. Also how was the first litter? Did she have problems having them. If so that could be ur problem too. And I worm my dog with ivermic, but I also know that ivermic reduces the sperm count in males so the month before( if i can help it) i use something different. I dont know how ivermic affects the female but i havnt heard any negative vices yet.

I use ivomec also, but I bred her to two different males, when I got her I bred her to a son of Gr. Ch. Blackjack then the next two heats later I bred her to a grandson of Blackjack. I'm getting frustrated with her!!

perhaps then you should do something about the situation, instead of just throwing the 2 dogs together, and getting bent when she doesnt take.

How many time did you let them get suck together? I'm not a breeder, but if you are comfortable with the owner of the sire, try leaving her over at the sire's for her entire cycle. Either that, or take her to the sire's everyday of her cycle.

Good advise has already been posted but here is another possiblity.
Have you checked your bitch for brucellosis? That can cause her to be sterile and many time ppl do not test dogs before they breed them. It is a common STD and dangerous because it can cause every dog you try to breed to become sterile. Your bitch can still come into heat just not drop eggs.

come on now- dont try to break my stride- you know i get kickbacks, thats the only reason i am a vocal proponent of vets. others have been critical of my because of this stance, so now i have to be sly about it
