    Default Help

Hello, I'm new to the forum and I have a question about Brutus. He is three years old and it's been about three weeks now that, when I take Brutus for a walk he will start to limp on his left leg. When we start the walk he is ok it, he just starts to limp when we are a block away from the starting point. Then he starts to walk slower and he looks very tired. I then took him to the vet. the next day. The vet. ran test on Brutus blood, hart worm test, hart test and x-rays. They found nothing and were told to just keep him in his kennel and to only let him out to eat and bathroom breaks (bed rest) for one month. Here is a picture of Brutus. I'm thinking of taking him to a different vet. is there any questions I should ask? Need help. Thanks..fficeffice" />>>

Where did they x-ray? Knees and hips?

There are too many things it could be to guess.
    Such as:
It could be a torn or pulled muscle, Hip D, Elbow D, arthritis, a cut or splinter, check all the nails too for torn ones, another thing that can cause lameness is lymes disease.

What was the vets guess on what could be causing the issue.

I'd give the dog some crate rest for a couple of days and see if he improves. If it doesn't or anything gets wore, I'd get to another vet.

It may just be the picture angel but he also looks a a bit over weight which can further stress joints and make dogs more prone to issues. That is something else you may want to talk to your vet about.

I hope it is something minor and he is better asap.

    Glucosamine for dogs:

    If you want to order:

They do have pill form. When I had JC on it, I gave him the liquid form. I put it right into his food.

make sure it's not a torn acl! He started out walking fine, then limping on and off, once he was treated he'd been putting so much pressure on the other legs he limped on the other rear one for a little

is he involved in any activities?

It's his front left leg that he limps on. The x-rays that were made were front legs and chest. Thanks everyone for the info. And I have made an appointment with a different vet. I will update everyone with the news.
