swelling around penis

I noticed that one of my males looks swollen around his penis. I did breed him about 9days ago. He dosen't seem to be in any pain. Has anyone ever had this happen to there male?

Any discharge come from the sheath?

NO not that I've noticed. But I do remember my wife saying she had seen a discharge one time when I was out of town. That was about 4-6 weeks ago.

He might have got some straw or bedding in there. Is he incessantly licking at it?

No and actually he acts very normal. Actually it swollen towards the rear. his testicles look a feel fine.

When i took my dog to the vet I asked him why is he constantly licking his penis, and sometimes has a greenish discharge. The vet saw what I was talking about and asked if he was an outside dog, I told him yes. He told me that what happens is they get dirt and other stuff from laying around in the gr*** and dirt. The vet told me and showed me to take some regualr hydrogen peroxide and a syring (without the needle) get about 40cc and insert it in the opening. Take your fingers and squezze about in 1' 1/2 down and shoot the solution in and wait a minute and release. After the vet did that it hasnt come back. I feel bad, when the vet did that I looked at my dog and he was looking at the vet like mmmmmmmm. I told my dog, dont get any ideas it aint like that. But If i have to I will do it. Hope this helps.

Sounds like your dog had a sheath infestion

had a buddy that happened to greenish discharge etc he went to the local health department they cured him was nothing but the claps how many *****es your male slept with lol just kidding sounds like minor infection in the sheath nothing peroxide and a ointment of terimycin wont clear up

Thanks, will a sheath infection cause the dog to be like depressed? I did that and for like 2 days he acted like strange, depreesed. He was eating and drinking just acted sluggish. thats funny BDK, he is still a pup.

Hope you don't have to deal with a dog whose lube glands in his/her *** get plugged. It's nasty but an easy fix and not worth the vet bill.
