Cute puppy. Expect him to grow up to be VERY large. Additionally, if he is of "Eddington" lineage...he is not pure-bred American Pitbull Terrier. That is documented in the history books. That doesn't change the fact that you have a nice looking dog who deserves all the love and attention in the world. Also, any and all advice on this site dealing with nutrition, training, behavior, exercise, activities, genetics, etc....it all still applies to your little one. Use the site to better yourself and your dog, and enoy that little guy while he's still little! haha

You may want him to mature into a big healthy dog, but it is vital to his long-term health and well-being that he grow up SLOWLY. Bearing the load of excess weight before the joints, tendons, ligiments, etc. are developed and strong enough to support it can be detrimental to your dogs quality of life. This will be an issue with an Eddington dog.

The first thing I would be looking for would be a food or a food/supplement combo that is packed with Glucosamine, Condroitin, and MSM. These are all good for the joints and might allow your dog to live a longer, pain-free life.
