Yeah, i've wondered this myself. Reason being is that I accidentally gave a few 40-50lb dogs this (the paste) not too long ago and I gave them about 500lbs worth each and it seem liked it did nothing!

Normally I use the fenbendazole, but I figured I would mix it up. Again, not sure if it worked.

Don't know much about it, but sounds dangerous to me. Thats a small dose for a lot of poundage.

what is the purpose of this? Does it treat something 'serious' or just for supplementing?

I wouldn't use it on a dog, my horse yes, dog no no...but that's just me, since the dosage is so high, why not just get a dewormer for the dog made for it? I've also seen horses react badly to the Zim Gold, not mine but other stabled horses. Meh, JMHO, get the dog dewormer in bulk maybe if you are looking to treat a yard??

Zimermectin Gold is just ivermectin and praziquantel. Ivermectin will treat hookworms, roundworms, etc, but not tapeworms. Praziquantel will treat tapeworms. However, like stated, the dose is so high since it is meant for horses. Unlike other dewormers it is hard to calcuate the proper dosage since it is so concentrated.

I use Safe-guard (fendbendazole), you can get a huge container (the horse one) if you have a lot of dogs for about $100 or a smaller one (the goat one) if you only have a few for about $17. It's the same stuff and manufactuer as the safe-guard packets they sell for dogs. If you don't have tapeworm problems, you can get strongid.

Who's has panacur? I went to the TSC and they didn't seem to have it any more. I like panacur the horse dewormer cause gets rid of mostly all parasites.

This is what I normally use the Safe-guard powder for dogs. The horse paste is a lower %, however. So, I don't think it works as well.

I'm not sure what the paste's concentration is, but I use the liquid. It's 100mg/ml and according to the safe-guard powder packages, a dog's dose is 50mg/kg (for three days) so I just calculated the dose for my dogs..it was about 8-10cc depending on the dog. I only do it that way because it's a lot cheaper! It works the same since it's the same ingredient, it's just a lil' messier lol
