Apparently there are purple pits out there... you guessed it breeding rednosed dogs to bluenosed dogs is producing what people are calling purple pits.
I had a "scholar of the breed" you know one of those great human being that thinks that his dogs bloodline consists of "american blues" or "UKC PR champion bloodline"... Its really getting hard not to hurt people feelings when they say this stuff out loud.
Seriously before they speak they should say it once in your mind, and think about it before you open your mouth and insert your foot.

    sad, sad, sad.

Looks like the lilac was touched up some. The grass color looks toned down to me.

LILAC - It is the isabella (dilute) form of blue just as the champagne is the isabella of red. Coat color appears a silvery purplish tint. Some would call this silver fawn. Skin is pale gray and eyes are pale blue. Nose is medium gray.

(thats the definition i found) Ive seen better examples but i cant find the website anymore..

Speaking of black and tan. Did anyone else notice they had black and tan & tri color listed. They two colors are the same thing, just one has more white markings... Geeze. (Sorry, pet peeve of mine...)

Who knows. Could be the same reason our "friends" stuff happens to disappear each time someone catches on to the new scheme. ;)

Because alot of these "colors" were around (with the exception of "merle") but no one gave them fancy names to sell them. All most of these colors are is a cast to the coat.. I've gotten peds with just "brindle" as the color lol. But Ive also seen great dogs called "silver" this or that..

My opinion, take it or leave it, is just how nit picky the breeder wanted to get with defining the colors of their dogs.. and the rest just call them fancy colors to get more money...
