Nice dogs toward the bottom but I am a fan of the top of the top side. The Hanton Red Boy dogs were Red Boy dogs that were taken up and down the road.

If you poll all the members of this forum and looked for absolutely the last person to ask about what a puppy is worth or what someone should spend......I can promise you I am the very last person to ask.

I'm too cheap to spend money on dogs.

$500 does not sound bad but I don't know anything about the owners nor the dogs upfront.

My only advice is do all the homework you can and when you have the warm fuzzies about the deal, go with it. After 2 to 2 1/2 years later you will know whether you made a good decision.

Dogs are worth what one is willing to pay. It's hard to put a price on ones work if you breed dogs since it's an extremely time consuming, expensive venture. $500 is most definitely a reasonable price for a purebred dog. Well under what I'd concider "working man's price". You'll almost spend that for a mutt at a shelter. If you like the owner and liked the parents pull the trigger. I'd put more weight on who bred the dog and why than I would an online pedigree. JM2c.

I like the first pedigree more than the second simply because it has 16 W's from 30 dogs, 2 Gr Chs and a Ch where as the other has 3 W's for 30 dogs but not one titled dog in 4 generations. The second one has more producers in 4 generations and IMO a better top part of the pedigree than the first one does though so it's a horse a piece really. May mean nothing but it's how my mind works. Always comes down to % for me.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Well said.

I just thought it was funny that far all the members on the board I was asked that question.

I then have to go into the "I'm a cheap bastard" spiel all over again. LOL

$500 is an excellent price for any healthy purebred dog, especially in todays world of inflation. The Riojas dogs have a good reputation.
