Depends on what dog you're putting in the crate. Some will eat through a jail cell to get out and some will chill out in a cardboard box.

Anything from plastic crates, to wire crates, to an insanely expensive welder diamond plate dog box. Just depended on what I was putting in it

Got a couple of theses. Love them. Other than when a dog shits in one. They are more of a pain to clean IMO. However the dogs stay put. Have yet to have one escape from one.

I always go wire with at least a mid level thickness. They key is that a crate is a safe and happy place for the dog. Mine eat and sleep in theirs.

  7. Thanks. Some good replies.
I bring mine in at night so a crate for sleeping will be nice.

  8. Looks like a nice one. Any particular brand you recommend? I see some on Amazon around $250 so I'll probably order one tonight.

    Never used anything like that.

The closest thing is once I converted an aluminum dog box into a in-house crate for a young dog that was heel bent on being free.

There was a company here in our town that was bought out some years ago called CPI. They do a lot of canine products, especially dog boxes and dog box style crates. Not sure they are still in business but when it was local it was really popular around here.

For those with feisty dogs.....please make sure nothing on the dog will get stuck in the crate (tags, collars, etc..) and cause the dog to get hurt or worse.

  12. Yeah I always do collar and harness free when in the crate.
