  1. Hello to all, I love this forum and will be hanging around here alot now that I have found it! We have a very small family owned kennel here in Abilene Texas and I just recently finished a web page for us. I would like for some of yall to check it out and let me know what you think. Anything I might could add to help it. I also plan on linking this forum to it! Please visit my site, sign our guestbook, (no one has signed it yet :-( and again, let me know if you think I should do some things differently.
    Thanks everyone
    John

If you want your web-site on the site submit it to the "links sections" This is not a place to peddle pups either!

    rocksteady I'll drink to that..

"We breed for unique colors (blue, blue fawn, champagne) and strong builds. Wide chests, big block heads with short snouts, and of course, we keep em short. We pay special attention to the small charchteristics, like tongues that are to long and solid nose colors. "

i think that says it all ........... i hope thats not really why you breed

    welcome.
Not to be the barer of bad news, but most (not all) people on this board look down on blue dogs/champaigne (whatever you choose to call them) dogs. We also look down on breeding for size/color, and for money. This breed has too many people w/not the right intentions making mass quantities of these dogs.

If you are hear to truly open your eyes and learn, then thats good... everybody makes mistakes.

    Welcome to the site.
The majority of the members here are strongly against breeding for looks. In example, color. Breeding for looks instead of working ability is one of the main reasons that this breed is being ruined.
You will get some straight forward replies concerning your kennel. Please, do not take them as insults. APBTs should be bred with no emphasis on things such as color. Looks should never be considered in a breeding program. Unless, of course, the dog has some kind of physical defect that may affect working ability.

Hopefully you stick around and learn the true purpose of the breed. We do not support breeding dogs outside of the standard, and for any other purpose other than working ability. Got to have tough skin to make it through this site for the info, but I hope for the breeds sake you do. Understand that all the negativity you are going to receive is to help the breed out and educate you. With that being said, I hope you stick around and learn a few things, and most importantly Welcome!

I don't think anyone here looks down on dogs that are blue or any other color. They look at why and how the dogs are bred. :)

Pretty much, just stay around and read everything you can on here. Most of us, if not everyone, is here to preserve the game dog. That means not breeding for looks, but for working ability. It's not that we look down upon all blues, just most of them. Simply b/c most are bred for "brick heads, wide chests, low to the ground, etc.." Something you already said in your website. They are not rare. Simply put, it's a genetic defect that dilutes black hair. And I also believe there is no silver color. All these terms are used by BYBs. We don't support breeding in general, and if you do, it better be for yourself and to better the breed. Most people don't make money on pups anyway. Especially after what it costs to take care of them and to make sure everything is working straight. So, just hang around and really get to know the truth about this wonderful breed.

  14. Actually, we may have 2 or 3 litters at the most each year. Are dogs are very well mannered and have very good bloodlines. We work with our dogs, train them, the best we can, and have fun with them. If you look at the site we have 1 breeding male and 1 breeding female. 1 male pup and 1 female pup. My dad had a blue and white pit he got in california in the 70's. When he moved to texas it got stolen. Since then he has tried to replicate that dog. I think it is preety narrow minded for you to say you look down on people breeding for colors. 2 litters a year sure as the hell dont pay my bills or feed me. We produce quality dogs and in my opinion have a hell of alot better appearance then your solid black dog. Isnt true if over 80 % of their body is the same color they were poorly bred? And as for the bashing and being tough, there a thousands of pages on google with great information on pit bulls. I simply wanted good dog owners to give me their opinion on what the site needed. There is nothing wrong with breeding for cosmetics, dogs with big long snouts, really long tongues, 3 tone noses, those are all bad traits if you ask me. A pit shouldnt look like a lab.

stop your breeding plans now.neuter all ur pups and dogs.and learn mroe about the real apbt.

  19. ok so instead of saying:

" to alot of apbt owners breeding for looks is looked down upon. You might consider changing your site to list any working abilities the dogs may have. Tell if they are good working dogs."
Everyone here just talks shit. ehe, thats great. I asked for input on the site, no? Blatently talking shit is not giving suggestions on a web page. Maybee everyone here is quick to give someone hell. The bottom line is that we are good people with good dogs and i bet my male would out pull half of your dogs. We do not compete though we have fun with our dogs. Our dogs are family. I didnt realize the stand point everyone here is taking about breeding, but like i said, no one here suggested anything.
