Screw your raw food, screw your high dollar kibble!

I've fed raw and quality grain free kibble but my yard is growing and that isn't possible anymore. I have been feeding regular Victor food for a while now and that's been fine. But I've made a breeding and expect to whelp and raise the litter and I won't be able to afford Victor once that happens.

So it's time for a BUDGET conscious thread.

What budget feed do you feed your yard of dogs?

I feed Diamond Naturals Chicken as well. Dogs look good on it, don't break the bank either.

If there is a Costco near you , you should check it out.

Damn fellas, I think that's higher than what I pay for the Victor lol. I'll have to check local prices but what I saw on the website was higher than what I pay last time I was checking my options there. I think the feed store will be my best option, may even have to drive to a further feed store for the right brand/price.

Saiy, I'd have to drive to the Dallas area but I may have to check that out. I've heard of people shopping at Sams and Costco for dog food. Thanks, I'll look into that.

Bout 30 bucks a bag for Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice from Tractor Supply..I have found that almost all dog foods are higher online Treez. And it's not just dog food I have noticed it on.

I have to run to TSC soon anyways so I'll check out what the local prices are. The Victor I'm getting is the beef and brown rice and it's 40lbs for $34. I know Victor has chicken formulas that are cheaper and I'm going to check into those too. I have one dog that seems to have a chicken allergy so I have steered away from chicken based foods. I may have to feed him different than the rest.

I found it to be a few bucks higher per bag for what I feed but they'll deliver right to your door. I've been thinking about trying it out, 2 bucks more a bag to save me going to an area I absolutely loathe here because only one place here sells Diamonds. They got a huge selection.

I've seen that mentioned before, AGK. I just checked and the food I feed is $5 more on that site and I could get free shipping if I bought 2 bags. Only downfall for my situation is no delivery people come back to our house so I'd have to go pick it up at the post office and for that drive I might as well go to the feed store and save the $5 a bag. For most people it may be cheaper and make more sense but my situation is unlike most lol. I can see how that site would be a big bargain for a lot of people though.

I understand and sympathize with your situation, but why have more on your yard than you can afford to feed properly?

How many pounds of feed do you anticipate needing monthly, current figures and six months after the litter drops?

IMO, if there is no avoiding the new additions, then I would figure out what I could realistically afford, and go from there.

Maybe even consider taking up hunting as a hobby and investing in a freezer.

Maybe even purchase or raise some livestock (hogs)and by a suitable wood chipper...

    Now that's country living!

Because it's not Victor beef and brown rice, it wouldn't be "feeding properly"??

How many dogs you feed, frogs? What feed are you scooping in the bowl?

Don't take all that out of context. I'm not trying to be negative at all. Dogs can live on cat food, fat and calcium supplements if things get real bad. So...

What does that have to do with your dilemma?

But in all honestly, not more than I can afford to feed like they need and deserve to be. But shit happens and I was just telling you what I would do in that particular situation.

Exactly how many dogs are you talking about?

Like I said, in all honestly, I sympathize with your situation.
