Have all yawl notice that the articles written now days about dog fighting are very vague compared to the more detailed articles of the past? Meaning in the past articles they would tell you exactly how and what they were charged for and the evidence found etc..etc.... but articles like this one dont mention ANYTHING about any evidence that lead to the charges/arrests, all you hear are neighbors testimonies of dogs barking and dogs seen on chains in someones yard.

  3. All I'm seeing is beautiful and to me well kept dogs being removed. Not one scratch or scar anywhere. If they are suspecting dog fighting why are they removing the animals without proper cause. Where is the evidence?

They said in the video that the suspects are just being held for questioning. None have been charged as of yet. Every dog I seen in that video looked very healthy. Only thing I seen them taking is a electric mill. Could have been used by people for all we know. I guess witch hunts no longer need the nuisance of evidence. They said in the video this stemmed from a year in a half investigation. Since no one's been charged yet my guess would be that they are fishing for evidence still and are hoping one or 2 of the people involved will narc out the others.

Exactly!!!!!!!!!....the law seems to be working back wards where they can TAKE ALL THERE DOGS and DETAIN them for questioning without being charged because they do NOT have sufficient evidence yet to make any charges stick.

They do not play fair. Anyone who has even been involved in a raid will tell you plenty of dirty ass shit the law will pull to make a conviction stick. Been there, done that. Everything from not having warrant to search the property before the raid takes place to straight up lying flat out in court to make their stories more consistent to the borders of the law. It's down right sickening. They will break the law to catch you breaking the law. It's a very hard fight to fight. Most people don't get attorneys from a different area than where the raid took place which also hurts you since local lawyers are in bed with the local DA's. They will not burn their bridges with the DA for you their client, even though that is exactly their job to do, protect their client. So if anyone is ever involved in a raid like this MAKE SURE YOU GET A LAWYER FROM A DIFFERENT COUNTY THAN THE ONE YOU WERE ARRESTED IN. They will have no ties to another jurisdictions DA's. It's a one hand washes the other type thing. A favor here a favor there. Most will not jeopardize that for you.

The dogs all looked healthy and friendly. The sad thing is they will probably euthanize the dogs. This is a crooked world we live in where you're guilty until you prove your innocent in the mean time all your shit gets takin and they kill your dogs...

The way they get you is by removing the animals. Even if you don't get charged or convicted you have to pay the shelter fees or turn the animals over. I remember I had to pay $75 a day each dog.

Those dogs look happy and healthy to me. It looks like that yard is in a fairly large neighborhood, and that is might have attracted more attention than is desirable.

I never thought about finding a lawyer from another county. Makes sense. In an ideal world, you would know the best lawyers in your area and surrounding areas - the kind of lawyers that are known not to care about the D.A. Maybe mafia lawyers? You don't want someone who is afraid to fight for you, which is what lawyers are expected to do in the first place.

    This was Mau Mau kennels?

There's two sides to that local lawyer coin. Some high powered "in the click" locals can perform miracles on a Sunday afternoon on the back nine.

From what I get this is just the surface. They hit multiple yards. And hell no they don't play fair. Sorry for those involved for real...4 legged and 2 legged. Bad deal all around. I heard 11 yards total in the surrounding areas. Who knows...but its pretty obvious they can take everything and not even have a reason other than what type of breed it is. Sad

It don't help either when your website says you have over 30 yrs in the dog game. If you goin ANYTHING, stay off the net. I'm not sayin that's what got him, but it damn sho ain't gone help. Using certain words these days seems to be enough for a raid. Heaven help if you have more than 3-4 dogs!!

Yes that was Mau Maus yard they were showing.

I also agree that if you have those types of lawyers then sure that will work too. I don't know those kind of lawyers, don't really know any lawyers as before 2001 I never needed to know one. I'm from a pretty small city. There was 11 of us and everyone had different lawyers. Hell, I went with Tom Ridge (president bushes head of Homeland Security ) his brother has a law firm here, very well know and respected practice since they both are from here. Anyway a very high profile firm here, some went with public defenders others got another from the local area. All of us got fucked. 17 dogs put down, jail and 2 years probation after.
    Here's the kicker,,,,,,
The warrant to raid was not even signed by a judge until the next day. Raid was already completed. Not one of the shishty ass lawyers would bring that up even though that would have ended everything right then an there. They broke the law to catch us breaking the law. Instead, your drug throught the legal system, made to look like some monster for months in the local papers/news and will be looked at by those who know you like your some serial killer. Takes years to go away and many thousands of dollars. Once this happens, AC will think of any reason they can to get onto your yard if you get back into the dogs. Luckily, if your smart, you will become very familiar with your rights and laws pertaining to entry of your property after a situation like that happens. Been better to know them before that time comes but hindsight is always 20/20. I'm sure there are those types of lawyers out there but you'd have to know one to be able to hire one. I don't think most know those types of lawyers though. Tried to get a change in venue since we were tried in the paper way before we ever seen a court room. Judge pretty much said fuck you hillbillies I will hear the case. Change of venue Denied! These judges, lawyers, Da's, humane society, cops, they are all fucking dirty as hell. At least here anyways. May have less of this kind of issue with a change in venue and a lawyer that does not personally know or deal with the local DA's office.

    But then again.....

That was before Mike Vick made everyone a expert on the subject. They looked at us like some Backroad country bumkins. Even the judge was like, your really going to waste this courts time with this hillbilly nonsense? His exact words to our lawyers. Back then, most didn't know anything about that world until it blew up after the Vick case. I believe you would get worse for it now a days since it's been so heavily publicized the last 10 or so years.

If they want you, they will find a way to get you. Or at least destroy your hard work while your fighting for your freedom. Like Naus said, even if you win, your dogs most likey will never come home again.

That's a messed up story and I'm sorry you didn't get due process.

I don't know any criminal lawyers myself, and I used it (Mafia) as a figure if speech, as those attorneys have a reputation of doing anything they can to defend their clients, including exposing problems with warrents, abuses of evidence, corrupt cops, etc. In other words, they don't seek friendly relationships with the DA over their client"s welfare. All I know is what I see on the news, in documentaries and in movies, so I don't claim to an expert.

But I am glad you raised this topic and told your own story. It shows how important a good attorney is in this and all situations.

This video link has been posted on this more than once, but it is good to watch it occasionally: Dont Talk to Police - YouTube

    He mentions Vick as well.

Sometimes it's not a "criminal" lawyer, just the fact you can pay them more than they stand to gain by going with the flow with the locals. Lol me personally my lawyer is a municipal court judge that still represents people in District Court, now that my friend has worked great for me!
